Like the title says, are there no Banks in New Eden? No savings account?
Any smart mercenary would put their ISK in a savings account and accrue interest.
I wish our ISK wallet grew at a rate of 1% interest so that if I am not able to play for a week, I come back with more Skill Points AND more ISK.

That interest happens because the bank takes your money and invests it. You can give your money to someone in EVE and ask politely for them to spend it wisely and try to turn a profit in Jita, but the difference here is that no one in New Eden is protecting your money via laws. You hand your money to someone else it ceases to be yours. Capsuleers operate outside empire restrictions and the security they provide kinda so ya.......dust mercs...... someone please correct me if i am wrong. NPC bank? I was just trying to stay within the lore/role of the game
my main point is that I think it would be nice if ISK increased over time like SP does...regardless of how it is "justified" within the game.
I pretty much understand and agree with what you said about EVE and how they operate.

SteelDark Knight wrote:I personally like the idea in principle. I think we all want to have more things to do with our ISK as being "DUST rich" doesn't seem to matter much at this point. However, it seems to me that CCP in general prefers to provide the tools and wants players to provide the content. Sadly, at this time we don't have as many tools as we would like or need. With that said there are still opportunities (albeit difficult ones) if one was determined enough. A good example is Kain Spero's service for Eve to Dust ISK conversion. ISK capital Dust side would have been required and the hope for return on that capital by investors. For now however, I would be more than happy to offer a small but lucrative stake in a tanking venture. We all know how profitable that is and I would be more than happy to provide a % of earnings for your investment. *Or loss I hear ya.
Just seems to make sense to me that if a player stepped away and accrues a lot of SP and comes back from their break, they have a ton of SP for proto but no way (or a difficult way) to fund it. A slight "interests" or increase to their previous ISK amounts may help...a little |

NOTE: I don't really care about Banks or Investing in DUST or EVE, it was meant more as a Joke.
My main point for this thread is that I wish ISK slowly accrued over time like SP does. But thanks for not caring and posting about EVE scams. |

Kristoff Atruin wrote:This will never happen. The last thing an MMO needs is unnecessary sources of inflation. To grow your isk in eve you need to spend it on things that will bring you more isk than you spent. Same thing in dust. Spend it on STD level suits, go kill protostompers in pub matches and roll around in your isk like Scrooge McDuck. Fair enough, though I am not totally sure I agree with you, I appreciate you addressing my concern directly.

My main point for this thread is that I wish ISK slowly accrued over time like SP does. But thanks for not caring and posting about EVE scams. How would it make sense that you get ISK over time? Why should you get it? I don't see how you get money for free in real life. So how do you want to explain it with the lore? If you want a bank: Look for a player owned bank. They are there. If you trust them is another story. How would it make sense that you get ISK over time? The same way it makes sense to get SP over time.
Why should you get it? To help with the cost of expensive prototype things. You can build up SP over time to get proto level skills but can't afford it.
I don't see how you get money for free in real life. A. Having your money work for you is the best way to increase your money. You could look at interest on your savings account (hopefully you have one) as free money. You put $10,000 is a savings account and look at the balance in a year and you have $10,100...a "free" $100 B. This is a video game so who cares how it relates to real life.
So how do you want to explain it with the lore? NPC Bank |
