it's good and bad. it will get you killed in a firefight, as it doesn't really know who to track. but if you're new, and you just want to be able to empty your clip before you die, then it might help. |

It has to be turned On in the settings. It's usually on by default unless you change it so it might already be on.
It's pretty effective. Once you're target you pretty much stay on target.
No. It only works with the hit scan weapons. Does not work on weapons with splash damage or sniper rifles.

There's a setting for it in options. But I think it's on for default.
As for how effective it is, it's hard to tell unless you play with it back and forth. With 1.4 came improved hit detection which personally I think had much more impact than aim assist.
Most console shooters have aim assist. There's a lot of complicated talk behind it but it mostly makes a small adjustment to better be able to track players. Does that mean if you put your cursor over someone and they move it will go with them: don't think so. It's more that if you are tracking someone as they are moving it will smoothly track a long with them, which can be difficult using a controller.
I don't think it works for weapons like mass drivers where there is splash damage, but I could be wrong about it.
There have been tons of threads detailing things that are more informative than mine, but figured I'd respond as best I can. |

You should probably also know that it does not function with Kb/M or Move controllers |

Pretty easy to enable : Hit Start - Options - Console - and in the console type - "/AR_Aimbot=1"
You don't have to worry about anti-cheat because this is implemented by CCP for Console/DS3 users only !

This video will give you a jist of what it will do for you. Not much input on your right analog stick and you track moving targets like someone practicing aim for years.

It's in the game because people forget that consol's never had anything like an aim assist... then someone gave it to them and now they think aiming with a joystick is way to hard without it. |

This is because CCP has done an amazing job making these two inputs have flawless precision movement especially the horrible virtual joystick that the mouse has become..
It's like having a drunk aimbot especially how much hipfire sway there is and not to mention the pin point accuracy of ADS........
All I have to do is pull up my sights and aim for a group my sights will bounce around on their own and get auto headshots without me moving the mouse its amazing!!!!!! |

It makes aiming sober.
Sure. I dont say its bad. EVERY other game on the market.
If we want more people to play, then we need more people to feel sober playing it. Then, we need AA. |

it works on most weapons at a range of less the 60m
several weapons like snipers it does nothing.
if you are playing without it odds are you are at a disadvantage.
do I care? nope, I specced into ar's.
