I realize that, by most standards, it's a bit unorthodox. But I love being able to last a bit longer when caught in the open. But it's not OP in the slightest, as I run out of ammo rather quickly after a few engagements, and have to hug supply depots and Nano hives.
Unfortunately, I won't feel like an Abaddon until we get a heavy Amarr weapon, but here's hoping.
But if anyone has any ideas or advice regarding the idea/fitting, feel free to share. |

Well, you can do one of two things. You can either get the commando variant of the heavy dropsuit, which I'm pretty sure has an equipment slot, but it's a dropsuit in desperate need of love. Or you could get a medium suit and stack as many shield extenders and armor plates as you can and come out a little weaker than a heavy and have enough ammo. A good suit for this would be the caldari assault or the amarr assault considering the heat build up.
If it were me, I'd go for the amarr assault. You could also find a logi friend |

I would go w armour/shield tanked assault suit, better speed and still high hp once you start adding mods. |

Considering how fast my Heavy Alt goes down since 1.4 you may be better off with an Omni tanked Amarr Assault suit. If you use both Shield Extenders and Armour plate, you can get a fairly good HP buffer, and your hit box for head shots will be a fraction of the size of a Heavy.
The Commando Suit is another option. |

I like the theme you are going for there, I prefer the Apocalypse so I went for the Medium Frame...
I would say that your would want to keep you Armour stacked to the max, and drop on some shield energizers or Damage Modules. |

Laser Rifle isn't as powerful without the Amarr Assault. The heat build up bonus increases its damage. I once tried the laser with a heavy suit and it's ok. I remember a couple of guys using this combo back in Chromosome. Heavy vs medium both with lasers heavy wins almost always. The laser is always in need of ammo so if I were you I'd get the commando suit for the nanohive. Combine it with a Mass Driver and you should be scary enough.

If you're gonna get a commando for the LR, I'd wait until the other weapons are added in 1.6 or whatever build it comes in before specializing in another AR like weapon. |

Adv basic heavy frame suit.
High slotts 1 enhanced shield enegiser 1 basic shield enegiser.
Low slotts 1 basic armour repair 1 enhanced shield regulator
Wepon std lazer rifle side arm klo scrambler pistol
Grenade flux.
This is a good fit as long as you use range and cover to your advantage . Even vettr if you have a logi drop skme compound hives in your kill space |

Also that fit is the one I like to use when Im fighting for ny ammarian allies. Quite effective and the enegisers and regulator will really help your shield recover fast. |

Huh. I tried this fit, and I like it so far. Not OP, but still cool. |

I would think the commando suit being able to have an active scanner would be ideal - because it really helps pick out targets at just the right range for a laser.
And jeez, just run away, call a lav and get to a depo for a reload! That's what we did in my day, and we liked it! |

I tried this combo and preferred the maneuverability of the minmi assault suit, however I would recommend if you want to continue to be a Abby,to either find a logi buddy for ammo, hug the depots, or go to commando for the equip slot.
Good Cmdo fit:
Complex armour rep in lows, nano hive in eqp. Weapons would be Lzr rifle for ranged and either the Scr, Scar, ar, or Md. What ever close range weapon you're most comfortable with, since as I'm sure you've noticed, the LR is bad outside of it's optimum range. Md is a good combo since it has the same kind of range that the laser has, with practice. Though it'll eat ammo too, it can be good for getting assault suits to back off, and both of your weps would be great for corraling enemies since both weapons people run from, you can throw rounds down and drive them toward team mates for assist points.
The complex repper in the low though is really important on the Cmdo suit though. Fit that first. |

Using a laser rifle means mid to long range game....being used in a suit that cant dictate range for **** .....so i wouldnt advice it at all but if you insist on using it....id recommend building your skill with a sidearm like an smg in which case you can engage the enemy first take the shields out before they come close then finish them off with smg. maxing out your passive armor and shield will give u 500 of each wihich gives u 1000ehp without modules.......speed/cardiac might help you dictate some range depending on your situation/map.......but in all honestly if your in a cqc map id advice dropping the laser rifle for an AR...youll be much more effective and youll last longer.........also be mindful or cover around you at all times. your ehp will go faster than you think in this build |
