Create a match search that all lows one search to search for prototype matches which would allow all gear. Higher isk pay outs for cost of proto gear. This would allow people with 15+ skill point to go at. Best of best. And if advanced geared people wanted to get killed for a higher isk payment let them.
The second option would be advance gear and under. Have it check meta levels of gear in the suit . If its to high lock that suit. This mode would help a lot people out. People coming out of the academy. People who don't have any proto gear.
People are getting tired of getting pub stomp by squads of proto users. People who want a closer match. Its really bad when one side has full proto squad. And the other side is a bunch of fresh clones out of the academy. |

it's possible. They just need to get their sh*t together first and acknowledge that pub stomping is an issue. |

I like the concept of allowing people to self-segregate and/or change their minds or preferences from time to time. That said, you have to watch for ways to game the system -- such as switching into a crap fit and letting your team carry you for extra high profits as you spam hives and links. |

I'll ask what others have asked each time this is suggested: How do you implement this? Are you basing this on the favorite set? By skill points? By most common used?
I have prototype but hardly use them - am I going to be stuck going to proto only matches because of this when I often use standard suits?
I'm sure it can be done, but given they are still working to make matchmaking work well, you are adding an unnecessary level of complexity for where we are right now with matchmaking. I don't think pubstomps are nearly the issue every makes them out to be personally - It is not common to see the other team redlined anymore - maybe 10% of the matches I'm in end in a redlining event. I personally feel this is acceptable. |

I'm for "proving" you should be allowed into advanced levels. It doesn't prove you are good but it does prove you have put in some time.
For an in-game qualification I'm all for having people "certify" for various activities. You want to enter into the higher stakes reindeer games?
- Have at least skilled into a prototype suit and a prototype main weapon.
- Have a spare million ISK to get your mercenary license accredited for participation.
Having in-game qualifications to participate in certain activities is something else to strive for that can be somewhat independent of SP. All we'd need are "levels" to qualify for -- and the player base to support such segregation.
Hmm, it would let corps pre-screen people a bit by applying basic criteria automatically. For example, if you don't have core skills already at 5's then you can't apply to my corp. |

Yeah but switching into cheap suit will mess your kdr. I also know a few people that have a uplink suit or a nano hive suit. Wp buffing already happens. For the isk end yeah people try to find ways to buff it. But isk is just money I am over 70 million I normal lose it with drop ships. If have two teams mostly running proto suits the one guy dropping a nano hive getting 10 resupply points and then dying to a full proto assault. Won't be able to really farm a high amount of wp. |

All it would be scan your fittings and lock out the fittings that have anything above advance for the match. Meaning every meta rating so if advance gear has meta rating of 3 . Anything higher then 3 could not be used on the suit. Not by skill points or what skills you have but by suit fitting. It would make matches closer. Yes so people would still have a weapon proficiency 5 for a 15 % bonus to damage. But could only use a gek not douvill (cant spell). To some only using a gek. Brings things closer. |

Not sure on this did 15 FW battles last night deploying between 6 to 12 corp mercs redlined all of them. There is a lot still to be done with matchmaking |

Militia mode.
It would be awesome. But we don't habe the player numbers to sustain a split. |

^This
The amount of people on the game at any given time cannot support even more divisions in the player base.
Lets run the numbers real quick
All game modes are 16 v 16 or 32 mercs in total.
Lets say these are the average times for each mode Ambush ~ 10 minutes (averaging basic and OMS plus loading) Domination ~ 15 minutes Skirmish ~ 20 minutes
Now, lets assume that people dont want more than a 30 second wait before getting in a mode. That would mean that 20 ambushes, 30 dominations, and 40 skrimishes are running at any given time.
Ambush - 32 x 20 = 640 Domination - 32 x 30 = 960 Skirmish - 32 x 40 = 1280
Total = 2880 people required to meet this criteria
Now, if you split all those modes into two, that would double the amount of people needed to keep all queues running smoothly which we currently dont have. |

Base it simply by suits, only std/mlt for low teir games, std mlt and adv for mid teir and no restrictions for high teir games. Its super simple
Suits wi be balanced by cpu and pg count |

I personally feel this is acceptable. Then, when you joined a standard match, any suits above STD will be locked.
If somebody can stuff a higher tier weapon on a lower tiered suit, then there would be a reasonable trade off, and Higher tier modules are not really breaking the balance on STD vs PROTO.
It's that Protos can fit 5 complex modules.
Just be rid of protosuits, everything else has a trade off for fitting on a lower suit. |
