When you enter the map overview, the left side of the map is not viewable if you don't zoom and even if you zoom in, on certain maps you still can't view it. Before 1.4 we were able to move the view much more freely, if a spawn point is on the left side of the screen it can be covered by the initial fit selection (the black column on the left). |

I was thinking this exact thing last night during an ambush where every drop uplink was in a urban spot on the left side of the map. It was like drop uplink roulette even with the zoom. |

I finally know what you complain about now... Yes, it's annoying...
It would be better to make the right edge of that battle stats panel a boundary for map scrolling and not the left edge of the entire screen...
CCP Logibro is looking "for something light" to add to UP 1.6 patch That should be one of these CCP Logibro wrote:We are looking at putting some stuff into 1.6 to alleviate some pressure points ahead of the general vehicle rebalance, but I don't have specifics (but I think I might have heard something about dropships in between howls in the night) Source: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1352234#post1352234

My squad commented on this very thing last night. That reduced view of the map with the large block on the left side has got to be made either translucent or map movement needs to be possible to allow visual identification of friendly spawn points when on the spawn screen. It is next to impossible to see (even on a 50" HDTV) where the spawn point is behind the writing. |

Have you noticed that zoom range has been increased? But you can't scroll an entire map now... |

You can adjust HUD transparency in options. I've set mine at ~30 or so. I can see what's behind the left portion of the screen now. I can even see spawn points and switch between them. Go check it out..
