I would like to see more tactical use items in Dust. There can be more backline logi tactics, making it a viable playing style to support the frontline. Here are a few of my ideas, please add to the list.
1. Carry Item - barricade, logi could make structures to fight from and mini bases to drop supply equipment. The barricade would be a module (3 droppable item). Logi could put them together making different shapes or singular. With a depot run he could add to it or another logi could add to it. The barricade would have a hit point total (so the other team could blow it up).
2. Motion sensors like a nanohive but more black ops style. It drops repeats a AoE (area of effect) larger then nanhive I would imagine). Enemies get tagged like a active scanner
3. Come on, Dehack ability to get some SP, why is this not a thing already?
4. Logi WEAPONS! Yes!, Like EVE I think logi could have a siphon weapon that does less damage to the enemy but leeches shield energy. Or siphons into Logi and out healing squad members slowly over time. I think the weapon should be a type of lock-on "Magnetic Siphon Laser" I am imagining something like the armor rep but modified.
5. Would be nice to see what is on the field more clearly, have proto equipment look way cooler then militia versions and have an upgraded symbol on map for all equipment.
6. Jump portals. Logi sets one up - like a droplink. Run to another location and drops the other. Players can use it to move around the map. When you highlight it, it would show you the link and route.
These are just ideas. So "this can't, I hate that" is not the feedback we are looking for. It an idea here sparks you into something cooler. Please share! If you have a cool idea or like one of these ideas, please share.
Again these are just ideas, not requests or QQing. Please share ideas. |

I think the barricade is cool, and motion sensors wouldn't hurt
But in reality no one is going to stand still while you siphon shields or armor off of them, and jump portals would be op as hell, might as well just get rid of LAVs and Dropships altogether if they were to introduce jump portals.
But I totally agree that proto equipment should look a lot cooler than militia equipment. |

About your barricade idea. I had a similar idea, it would be an installation however. You would buy 1m long segments from the marketplace that could be placed in a wall formation on the battlefield. To place them you would set two points on the ground, and they would land in a line connecting the two points. If they hit structures that cannot be destroyed, they would be destroyed themselves, so they would be limited to the terrain.
There could even be racial variants!
Caldari: Low HP, mostly shield, medium regen. Gallente: Med HP, mostly armor, slow regen. Minmatar: Very Low HP,mostly shield, fast HP regen. Amarr: Very High HP, mostly armor, very slow regen. |

Meh. I'm not waiting on new equipment....
Look at pubgames, everyone is just out to kill...kill...kill...and when they are finally low on ammo/health they start panicing and start yelling that logis don't do their job. They don't realise that it's better to hold on certain positions where I would drop my equipment. They yell they want to be revived not realising they are in the open/in line of fire, bleeding out because they have no patience or cry because they do get revived in front of ******* reds.
I seen plenty of matches that went to **** because the blues were just too greedy for kills and then complain that logis get more WarPoints for being smarter (sure spamming equipment could give you lost of WPs, but you certainly can get the same amount without spamming them, something that people tend to forgot).
Sure I can get in laggy Planetary Conquest games where no bluedots are seen, but who wants to play laggy games which you have to plan way much in advance?
Pubgames is the only thing we got and being a support role is getting boring unless you're in a good squad which more likely ends up in a boring redlining game, ....

I would like to see drop links and nano hives of squad mates as green in color.
There by ensuring you come out at the right place looking in the right direction and increase your squads war points for orbital strikes.

very similar, would be cool if their was a visual difference to. So you could tell it was a Gallente barricade/wall.

I've also supported the jump portal idea. I approve of the scanning sensor deals, too. That would be great for a basemaker logi. As for deployable walls, fear not. Thats more or less the shield generator that is on the list of first new equipment being developed, along with cloaking. |

Shield generator is more like halo shield I think. I imagined it was more for heavy or combat and much weaker then a barricade or wall style logi drop.
