A heavy suit with base hp and sprint speed equivalent to an assault suit, low strafe speed (approx. 3 m/s), 1 equipment slot, 1 sidearm slot (and thats it), 200 stamina, 150 stamina/sec regen, NO grenade slot, 5 highs 3 lows if Caldari, 3 highs 5 lows if Gallente, 4 highs 4 lows if Minmatar, 300 cpu 60 pg same as the assault suits, scan profile 65db same as the heavy suits Bio suit skill bonus: +5% efficacy to Biotic modules per level.
The advantages of the suit would be high amount of module slots, decent hp, decent movement speed, with high potiental sprint speed.
Disadvantages would be only form of weaponry is 1 sidearm. Heavy frame making for a large, very scannable target. Absolutely no AV possibilities, high isk cost. Low strafe speed.
Purpose of the suit is for high survive-ability, low killing power. I could think of several uses for it, such as clearing out enemy equipment, breaking through enemy defenses, as well as an overall melee based (or not) player. Of course this should be carefully implemented due to the melee exploit that currently exists, but just because of the melee exploit doesn't mean all forms of melee CQC should be looked down upon. When I thought of this suit I thought of it as a sort of bull, largest tactic being charging an opponent and making them focus on him, drawing attention away from teammates. I don't think it should be a death machine, it certainly should not have that much hp, just as much as any other assualt. The low strafe speed will further force players to use it like a bull would, going from a light jog to a hurling can of metal in a split second. |

This looks more like a medium frame suit than a heavy. Get rid of two slots (one of each) and add 250 shields and lose 50 armor, lose the sidearm, and make slower (somewhere in between a heavy and a medium frame, kincats will make it fast), Then you will have a good biotics based suit. You could also have fitting reduction for biotics modules and lower the PG and CPU, to reinforce its role. I can see what you want is a hand to hand and melee based heavy suit.
What you had before looked like a Minmatar medium frame without very many fitting limitations and a melee focused role. |

What you had before looked like a Minmatar medium frame without very many fitting limitations and a melee focused role. No restrictions? It only has a sidearm, no light weapon or heavy. Adding more hp would just make it too tanky, decent hp and alot of speed is good enough. Lowering the cpu and pg anymore would disallow running 8 prototype modules, with the required sidearm. Its supposed to be a like a medium suit, no light or heavy weapon slots is a huge disadvantage for a slow strafe speed suit. Also its a minmatar suit, why do you want it to be shield heavy?

Added in some more updates to balance it. Changed the suit from Caldari to Minmatar for the sake of lore. Swapped the 4 high 4 low modules for 5 high 3 low to limit the usage of biotic modules. Maximum hp and biotic stats should be balanced with the suits lack of a primary weapon slot, heavy frame, low strafe speed and high scan profile. Taking suggestions to change the racial skills around. These stats are just suggestions and ideas for my general idea for a melee based dropsuit. Please post constructive criticism. |

So this is essentially a Tank to put it in MMO terms. This guy would soak up damage and distract his enemies, while his teammates would kill the distracted foes, resulting in profit. I would love this idea if one of the new weapons (in 1.6) was a sidearm. |
