Let me lay down some background info as I haven't been active on the forums for a very long time, since closed beta began to be exact. Alright, I`ve been playing this game for nearly 2.5 years (I think XD) and love it. I still love it, and I love playing with friends and alone. I`m also one of the first to have taken up the profession of a tanker. I`ve been tanking since before forge guns and when a turret was a very nasty competitor. So I know my way around a tank better than most. Hell I`ve destroyed more tanks and lost more tanks than most corporations have over there whole lifetime. I`ve never had a problem with tanks, as they always seemed balanced imo, and only when I piloted Marauders did I feel they were slightly broken. I`ve piloted both races, and decided I like shield more, so I pilot those exclusively now. But shield always has had problems with armor up close, and I realize this and have ways of beating armor if I`m in a blaster. But, that has changed.
Now onto my point, shield tanks are now not even able to compare to armor at any range. Not only are they faster, but they also have a higher tank, and higher damage output for anything but missile (and those are rarely used anyways). Now I do realize that Gallente have the strongest hybrid weapons and a decently high tank (eHP), BUT they are armor and are SLOW. Because you don't just put on several tons of armor and go faster, unless for some reason physics has changed, in which case notify me. And that isn't even my main problem. IT`S THE FACT A SHIELD TANK MOVES SLOWER! I`m sorry but that is absolutely bs, and unless those shields, which way nothing (and again correct me if I`m wrong), actually way more than armor plates, then it makes no sense why armor tanks move faster. And don't say its because they have mods on there, because a tank shouldn't be able to take the beating of two tanks, and two proto swarms, and still survive until the end of the round, and have speed mods. Unless speed mods give it a speed tank, which is rather stupid, as to the fact if you cant hit a tank at the ranges that we are with that big ass turret, then you shouldn't be piloting a tank, and the fact there should be no chance of hitting beyond pilot error and range.
So CCP, I`m asking nicely to please explain this logic. What science in physics says with more weight you can go faster, besides when you are falling. The fact that I cannot stand up to anything but a militia armor tank (excluding all shield tanks as I`m fine 1v1ing those) without fear of either it running away hiding and biting me back in the ass or outright out tanking me and out gunning me is a load of crap. You know if it gets the drop on me, and kills me, its fine. But when I can literally sneak up two shield tanks and two swarm launchers onto an armor tank and only get it 1/4 armor before its reps kick in and keep it repped till us shield tanks lose range and the swarms fall behind, is the biggest load of crap. So please explain to me the physics behind that, because I swear physics says more weight means more energy needed to get it to go faster. And when an armor tank that has that much energy to push it that fast, make its punch harder, and make it more resilient, compared to the shield`s equivalent which is slower, weaker, and less powerful, is more unbalanced than an elephant and a flea on a scale. Its absolute bs, and makes my shield tank useless but for infantry, and I love blowing up enemy tanks. Hell the only thing the Shield tank has is its profile, and that's not a very good balancing as I can just go into my overview and find it`s outline in the mountains. So please, tell me your reasoning, or change this, as to the fact, I`ve put 6million sp into shield tanking, and its absolutely for nothing. And don't say its because AV does more damage too Armor, because that's not an equal trade. Maybe for the infantry yes, but not for us tankers. So please realize what you`ve done wrong, Or explain to me how its right, As I clearly cannot see it. |

ughh. This **** again.
1: You can't have a very good tank on a good Gallente Rail sniper, so I call BS
2: If you put on ANY kind of plate over a 60mm on a Galente HAV, you'll go slower than a Caldari. I've tested it, so stop with the BS on that one.
3: I've noticed that most Caldari HAV pilots try and do the same thing that they do with Gallente HAV's and fail. Watch the good ones do it, with missiles and Rails. It's amazing, and they give me a good time (I usually still kill them, but I'm used to flanking around an entire map just to kill a HAV).
4: It's right because Gallente mainly use blasters (like 90% of the time) on our HAV's, and we got to get real close to hit people hard.

Um, ok I will go and grab a few different vids of it next time I play. But unless you haven't played since 1.4 I doubt you are telling the truth. Especially since when you want a good tank on a glass cannon, neither tank can achieve it, sorry but we lack the powergrid to fit a decent tank and add damage mods.. Secondly, I kill almost every tank on the field, and did what any armor tank could do. I`m a great frontliner and I know how to eat tanks. But when a tank that has armor plates, and it still doesn't mover slower, I start t wonder if they really do lose speed. Unless you can achieve 6000 armor in a Madruger without plates, and if you can without plates tell me now, then it doesn't slow you down. Because unless my heavy booster somehow slows me down, then he should not be pulling ahead of me due to your logic. But no, going backwards, armor tanks always pull ahead. And unless you both were using keyboards you wouldn't know who is faster. Trust me, me and my tanking buddy run both, me shield and him armor. Side by side, both with keyboards he moves a lot faster, and he most definitely has plates, because I helped him design the fit. And finally, if 90% of you armor tankers run blasters, then why the hell would you if you moved slower than us. We`d just be able to zip away due to your logic. And I got a whole team today who can attest, including my two gunners, that the armor tank moved a lot faster than I did, with no speed mods. So explain to me that. Anyways, I have seen it, and I know its true. Armor moves a lot faster, and it should not.
Also, if you think an armor tank cant put up a decent tank with a few damage mods, then you have no idea how to fit a tank. Remember the fitting rules, and trust me that third mod aint goin to do ****, better to tank for the extra armor than modify damage by like 2%, this isn't eve incursions here.
So you be quiet, as I know what I`m talking about, and you proved nothing nor enlightened me any. |
