Posted at 17.05.2013 17:04 by GM Grave Hello,
This response is being sent to all users who have filed a support ticket in order to request a skill respec.
We would like to acknowledge receipt of your skill respect request and inform you that we have now flagged your account for a skill respec .
The skill respec will be applied to your characters in the coming days once we have completed and deployed changes to the skill tree. This one time respec will remove and refund all ISK and skill points that have been applied to date. Please ensure that due care is taken when spending skills and ISK as we will be unable to reverse ISK/SP spending in future.
If you wish to discuss issues that have not been addressed in this skill respec response, or believe you have received this message in error then please respond to this support ticket and we will attempt to address your issue.
Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please note that if you are receiving this message you are currently in a queue for a skill respec. Eligible customers who may have been misfiled and would like to request an Aurum account reset should respond to this ticket clarifying their request.
Regards, Lead GM Grave CCP Customer Relations | EVE Online | DUST 514
No more respecs are coming. At least not the FULL respecs. The only kind of SP refund you might get are partial ones such as when they remove skill books that you invested in or reduced the SP cost of the skill books. Practically, just like how they did it with their Eve Online skill tree. To this day, after ten years, Eve Online still undergoes constant rebalancing of the ships and skill books and so far NO FULL respecs were handed out since 2003 which was supposedly the last time a respec was ever handed out.
Note: I understand that the EULA doesn't permit posting personal correspondences in the forums. However, it appears that cookie-cutter replies that have been sent out in mass such as the one above are ok to post. So far I have not been warned by any of the GMs and I have not been banned at this point after posting this repeatedly since May 2013. If this is not allowed, GMs please let me know. |

@Dust
We'll let the council of planetary management decide on that. Especially once the elections are implemented. |

I'll let dwindling sales do that as vets run out of reasons to buy AUR, and noobs put down the game because vets are stomping the **** out of them and advancement is slower than a one legged turtle in a pool of molasses
You do realize you're talking about an indie company that doesn't put profits before their players, right? By the way, Eve Online is CCP's primary source of revenue along with the PLEX system they introduced back in 2010. If CCP was able to figure out how to cover the cost of voice transmissions (remember the Universal Voice Transmitters you had to pay?) for us, then I don't see CCP struggling financially anytime soon.
Unless of course you can somehow convince Eve Online players to unsubscribe by the thousands (again). But considering how happy Eve players are now, I doubt that will happen again for a very long time. |

@Dust Fiend
In that case, just give yourself a break and play another game. In the meantime Dust will improve in the years to come. So six or more months from now when you log back in to check what's up, you might see improvements and a nice pool of unallocated SP to make your skin crawl again.
Just remember how bad Eve Online started. That didn't stop CCP and thankfully that didn't force CCP into becoming like EA. |

BARDAS wrote:I personally don't think we should have respecs for everyone, but I am a bit of a hypocrite I admit because my character is finely tuned because of a respec. Before it was a complete and total mess. There should be a system in place where a player at his 2 million SP mark gets his skills automatically reset so he can re-invest them. This makes it so it benefits new players only while they are learning the game.
That's a grey area for me. On the one hand I want new players to have a chance to learn the game better, but on the other hand the new players need to learn how to live with their choices. |

You can say the same thing about every other game out there. |
