There are no planets in EVE with moons that close in orbit, so we should not be seeing them so large.
And there are no moons in Dust that we are fighting on, so it should be impossible to see planets in orbit with the cities fully lit up like that.
Skybox does not make sense.

This has bugged me for a long time too, especially that one with the planet in the skybox as if we were fighting on a moon, yet the intel clearly states we're fighting on the planet. Really annoying, but the skyboxes are pretty. |

They look good so I really don't give a fk. In my opinion they should stay or if it is just so horrible that you just can't handle it then edit it, don't remove it. |

It looks good.
CCP LogicLoop as said that the eventual goal is to have Dust pull from what can be seen in EVE.
Until then, I'd rather play on a map with a pretty skybox. |

If they give us moons to fight on then I have no real problem with the planetary skybox, but the moon skybox has to go unless they want to directly move a good portion of the moons in EVE.
Consistency is important, you know. |

Consistency is important, you know. CCP do have plans on letting us fight on moons actually, but for now this isn't really a problem. I mean we do fight on a lot of planets with all those planets looking pretty much the same on the ground . |

It might be you're on the moon itself... either way there is no specific correlation yet between location and the assets used because the amount of assets needed for that isn't there yet. |

Except that we are not.
Deployment clearly shows where we are as it zooms in on the planet.
Furthermore, it happens in FW, and can be verified EVE-side that the district is, in fact, on the planet, and can be hit from space. |

Please delete them. What makes you so sure that the atmosphere on the planet isn't magnifying what we see in sky? We don't know what kinds of chemical compounds the air on those planets contains. |

Guys, you do realize you're talking about a spaceship game where spaceships move like submarines rather than what you see in Battlestar Galactica, right? Then there's the obvious fact that the planets in Eve are technically not that big at all. In fact, if you take the time to slow boat your way to the planet, your ship will be able to nearly scrape the surface and you would still see the curvature of the planet's surface. Hell, while you're at it, compare the size of the stations to the moons. You will be amazed at how inaccurate the entire Eve Online game is at this point. MY GOD THE PLANETS DON'T EVEN ORBIT!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Similar to planets in system the moons are likely in the same serialization as the orbital parent. So when talking about Hek IV refers to the planet HeK IV and all of its orbitals (if any). When talking about the Hek System that includes all planets and moons in the system.
None the less I am stating its just likely a randomized mood, and not something assigned because there are not enough assets nor is the system capable of supporting remembered moods, terrain, and the sorts, It does support installed SI's right now for PC. Maybe in the future the moods, terrtain, location, gravity even or time of day can be factors. At night you can look up and see the correct nebula at the angle the district is at. Just right now not possible. |

I like the skyboxes, they are good for show for now, the line between dust and eve isn't even at 10%!!!
until the connection gets better to where we are directly linked for stability, the skyboxes should remain, I hate the old skyboxes. |

Some planets that have districts are right next to other, which could explain why you see another planet in the sky box. |

wtf are you talking about? there are plenty of moons close to planets in eve... it's just that lots of them are very small. |

This is the only reasonable conclusion I could come to, but the temperate atmosphere kinda throws that theory out the window.
But let us forget all that, because i really want to be on a moon, and to interdict the flow of goo. Rinse and repeat, and we will make all of New Eden kneel before us.
I could live with that. Tears would wash over us in great breaking waves, wash the dust from our dirty hands and sore eyes and parched throats. We could surf on the tears of the pilots from Stain to the EVE gate.
Good times my bros, good times. |
