So my friend and I jumped into an Ambush match the other day. And when we finally deployed, every one on the opposing team left the game for some reason. So we (my friend and I) decided to just goof around till the 15 min timer ran out. And once it did, with 0 WP and 0 kills, I got 250,000 ISK and 6,000 SP! WTF!?!?! Are you telling me that the way they decide how much ISK and SP you get, is determent on how long the battle was!?!?!
I'm sorry, but this is a load of BS!!! CCP I'm calling you out, you'd better fix this. |

Actually...you're mostly right, the way that isk and SP is calculated out is about 75% just time spent and 25% what you actually do, this is why a lot of people go into a match and afk farm, at least that's what they were doing in 1.3, they're trying to impliment anti-afking systems now. |

It's still crap, 75% is a lot. |

These Anti-AFK-Systems aren't really worth anything. There's always a way around. They should just make AFK farming unappealing. Give more points for WP earned and less for just standing around. |

Time deployed in battle is one of the factors which determines in match earnings. Other factors include;
- Value of assets destroyed in match
- Value of assets destroyed by you
- War Points earned
- Portion of teams total War Points earned by you
The situation you describe ends up giving the two of you the whole pie in essence because there are no other players, further the match lasts longer - which usually means greater losses in personal assets - so some of those base values are higher.
These time in match aspects are present so that players who are new to the game/still learning to play aren't driven out of the game by being unable to maintain their ISK balance or advance their characters through Active SP earnings.
If you have an objection about what happened in that match it's more properly addressed as a problem with matchmaking than a base value with earnings, however even there it's not entirely the matchmaking at fault if the opposing team leavings the battle. While such deployments are less than idea they are better than alternatives which would drive players out of the game.
0.02 ISK Cross
EDIT: Dev Blog link - War and Profit Current SP gain is 5 SP per 1 second deployed within a match, while the ratio for SP to WP is 1:1 |

How many assets were destroyed, how long was the match, how many opposing players were there, etc etc. Also how does that alter the impact on new players if the current system were gutted?
