I caved in to the hype last time with GTA IV and while i enjoyed it, it can't hold my attention for that long. This time around, i know it's a much better game and i might cave in sometime and include it in my playtime but not yet. |

That is the type of game i buy second hand, a couple of weeks and it will be plenty of cheap copies around. Having say that, i'm not exactly staying with Dust neither, the aimbot is very irritating me. So i watching Star Trek at the moment. |

I played GTA III briefly at a friends place. There was a moment when your mission was to drive a guy around to fast food restaurants... no fighting, no storyline development, just driving a dude to get some food.
I don't even do that for my girlfriend, why would I buy a game that expects me to? |

I've played and loved every GTA apart from 4 which was good but not great, for me. Installing GTA 5 now but I always have a few games on the go so no way will Dust be forgotten.
I'm launching my own corp for one thing and that's not going to grow on its own. |

Different game types. it's like saying BF4 is going to take away players from DOTA. GTA isn't a competitive FPS game. BF4 on the other hand will take some players away. PS4 will take even more. least this guy here. I don't roll back on consoles. Have to go where the fights are. BF4 and KZ4. |

picked up my copy today. however, i probably will not get much time on it or any other game. it seems i only have time to be a forum warrior for about ten minutes a day these days. just real busy with real life. i still do not see why someone can not own and play both games. |

Got my copy at midnight last night. Online play for GTA won't be for a couple of weeks so ill be playing dust on and off in the meantime. But I have lots of friends who will be playing GTA V so yea, dust will lose one eventually.

but on Oct 1st it's gonna be log in/log out for a while...NBA 2K14..until it pisses me off...and it always pisses me off at some point..

I really only got it for GTA ONLINE. And that starts next month. lol Otherwise GTA is well GTA. This time I'm determined to beat the game! I'm not good with "make your own fun" games. I do everything, then get bored. I've never beat a single rock star or assassins creed game yet. I end up doing everything else in game, then don't bother going back to story.

The problem I have with GTA is that they're fairly shallow games, but massively "wide." There is an overwhelming amount of content, but very little is truly engaging. GTA 5 seems like an amazing effort though, and Rockstar should be commended in the scope of what they were able to achieve. |

One thing is for sure. The game is selling monster amounts of copies. As soon as I walked into Target this morning and went to the electronics area, I was immediately asked if I was there for GTA V.

Yeah it's an incredibly impressive game (especially on the hardware they have to work with), but just not my cup of tea. Beating hookers, only holds my attention for so long, and I don't have the time/energy to collect every last hidden whatever like I did when Vice City was released. EVE is a real sandbox, with plenty of real players to blow up, and DUST is getting there too. Ultimately it's a more compelling open world game to me, and less like a scripted amusement park (mission-running aside). |

open world games like GTA and Defiance are more geared for times when you just want to run around in an environment and not worry about crap. On the days you want to shoot actual players, you can always load up dust, cod, BF, KZ, Moh, or whatever suits your fancy. |

Yeah, that's my feeling. They are two different style of games; depends on what you are in the mood for. I'll probably be devoting a good chunk of time to GTA right now, but I expect to be back on Dust before long. And probably back on Borderlands 2 when the Halloween DLC drops. I try to cycle through my games, and let them rest for a bit, so I don't get tired of them for good.
Took me 30 mins to get through the Gamestop line this morning, crazy. |

Haha I was thinking about 2K myself. Just because i haven't played a basketball game since 2K9. Plus there isn't any racing games for PS3 that I'm excited about and Most Wanted reboot is crap. Besides 2K, I was gonna get GTA V and maybe B4. I know I'm not rushing to get the PS4. I'd rather save up for a car then waste it on that and it have a lot of hardware issues. At least i'll wait a year or two. |
