Matticus Monk Ordus Trismegistus 450	Posted - 2013.09.16 23:38:00 - [3] - Quote As someone on the receiving end of many an AR slaughter, I'd like to point out that just because you have prototype AR skills, that doesn't mean you need to use anything other than a militia AR, or even some other basic/militia weapon if you want to challenge yourself in pub matches. But - I'm happy to use a shotgun/SMG/Laser rifle, in order to do my part. The AR does occasionally come out for certain combat situations, though.

If you look a page or two back on the forums you can see where some kind fello did the math that ARs actually do the least amount of DPS/s out of those three options. Just saying. I've used other weapons and simply do not enjoy them. Lasers are not my play style at all. Scrambler rifles aren't terrible but the sound annoys me. Mass drivers, well they're the equivalent of 'noob tubes' in any other FPS and I've always refused to use them. Simply put, ARs will always be the most popular weapon across almost all FPS games, which hasn't changed in Dust either. Get over it.

They out-DPS lasers on both sides of the laser's minuscule optimal range, the ScR has an overheat function and the MD is actually quite low DPS; it's just that it shakes your screen when you get hit, so you can't aim back.

I agree to disagree Not in the beginning... And what people start with will most likely spec into. But you will probably disagree with that too, well.... You're entitled to that opinion.

Well that MIGHT be the case, but the fact i can equip my Toxin AR with no prof level on it nor damage mods and go 20-2 in a game makes me think it IS pretty easy to use and all the other skills are there just for people wanting more of an edge. SO since its easy to use = More people using it. Its simple. Its true.Its how it is, and its how will always be....

For those of us who startedi n the closed beta, we could only chose caldari and only had AR`s. Now you can chose one of the 4 races , and you get their racial starter suits - however you still ALWAYS get the AR and nothing else.
