Starting in the game and staying for more, need big mind resistance, staying after a few match having a kill / death ratio very negative, with the feeling that "i can't catch up people who started the game before me, they have a too big advantage" need a big resilience for a fps player.
Instead of having only the kill / death ratio as performance indicator (i know it is not an absolute indicator but globaly for fps it is)
We should have too a "money lost / money destroyed" indicator, this way a new player who finish a match with a k/d of 3/7 will be less demoralized if at the same time l/d (lost / destroyed) indicator show 1250000 isk / 45000 isk
Eventually even a generic skill points indicator would be cool , showing the average number of skill points of each team (but wonder if it would not have a blow to morale instead, seing that you have 1m skill points where the average of other team members have 6...., and it could give sometime the impression that matchmaking is not working correctly) |

AA has not been adjusted or turned off since 1.4 release, this has been confirmed by the devs. |

Some PvE trainings sessions would probably help. The current learning curve is similar to this: http://www.restokin.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Sensory_Overload.jpg Just change it from MMORPGs to MMOFPSs. |

AA = Aim Assist
To the OP. I'm not sure whether it would keep new people around more, but I do like the idea of seeing ISK lost/destroyed stats at the end of a match screen. |
