there won't be any red lines that players can use to hide, but a base of operation, with automated turrets mounted on the walls that targets you as you get around 20-40m close to the base, with defense walls or something of the like that you can't shoot out of. that way red line snipers have to get out in order to snipe. the walls will have multiple ways of getting out and secret ways to get out that will allow them space to get out without the spawn camping. it can always have openings for lavs and havs to leave and spawn in so they can get out and do their jobs on the field. once out though, there is no getting back in. just my little idea, and is open to any changes that will help all roles. |

Ah, QQ Kittens are soo cute.
CCP/Shanghai have gutted them way more then your silly idea (which has been offered at ten times a week since Closed Beta so it ain't that unique, just saying). They cannot see past 400m so you can enjoy texture popping grass, they turned Jesus Hill in mAnus Peak to Jesus Hill and the rule for new sockets is that the objective is not supposed to allow a Sniper to cover it directly.
HTFU. Watch the CCP video if you don't understand what it means.
Learn to play the game. Counter Snipe. Use cover. Or Die.
They operate like Real World Snipers. Watch Sniper '93, no real world sniper would operate in the conditions you want. Just so your whizzy suit is protected. |

i am a specialized sniper myself. and I'm tired of seeing the red line cries myself. just giving a nice suggestion that can be used to silences those that do cry. so don't assume when you know nothing. if anything, just tired of these indirect nerfs to my sniper rifle. and before you go on about me hiding in the hills or wherever, i do that rarely and move to hack and snipe from within my squad. |

I just scanned the Feedback pages and there are no less than three End of Sniper posts because of the drastic changes to sniping in general over the last several weeks. |

Ehh I support removal of redlines , but I'm fine with snipers staying hidden far away where you can't see them that's the point I just font like redlines, I just really don't like them for absolutely no reason |

I would like to see this especially for the red line tanks that i encounter from time to time. Very annoying trying to take out a tank that can so easily retreat back. If they at least were some place i could chase them down i would be able to wipe them out with my FG. |

lol-no. just remove WP gain while inside a redline and don't let their kills be counted on their total character kill count.
Don't take it away. I love red-line sniping... I mean. I love sniping people before they leave their red-line. |

Lighten up a little about the Red Line, Mercs.
First it is a reasonably simple method to allow quick modifications of game play. And it probably takes nothing more than a text file to modify. We have seen the grown and shrink to allow both teams to drop from the MCC without getting spawn camped (mostly). Since the Closed Beta we have seen map sizes start large, made smaller and now some are wider. All because of this implementation of the Red Line.
Second, Red Line doesn't matter when it comes to WP. No location does. Changing that is a significant coding effort and the QA would be horrendous. Considering how much their QA doesn't catch now there is no way they could verify the boundary conditions for that.
This is how the game is. The Red Line isn't going to go away.
If you absolutely cannot stand it, get out. Play something else. Angry Birds doesn't have a Red Line, as such. |

The hard part at least to me is distinguishing between players that are giving themself a significant situational edge or players that are simply trying to re-group. Getting something in place that truly can distinguish between the 2 might be hard. I like the idea of a fortified position to spawn into and gather forces to form an attack. The problem with that is that i dont know how much effort it would require. To do it properly so that players are not simply leaving spawn from this 1 opening all the time and give players diversity to enter the BF i suspect would take a lot of effort. |
