I think the subject says it all really. The constant nanohive/grenade spam these days is literally the most frustrating thing about the game. I think the problem might be the damage of the locus grenades, I mean I know they're designed to pretty much destroy clones, but the Core Locus Grenades in particular seem to pretty much OHKO everything. (correct me if I'm wrong there). I understand that there is a massive SP investment to use the Core Locus in the first place, and the CPU/PG requirement of them is also pretty high, but seriously when the grenades can be constantly refreshed by nanohives the level of grenade spam just becomes ridiculous. I've noticed the problem much more in Ambush than Skirmish (can't say about Domination as I don't play it), but I have been in ambush games that have genuinely been decided by who has thrown more grenades. At this point the game just becomes pointless and not really skill based at all, unless you count the ability to perfectly cook a grenade...
I'm not really sure how I'd like to see this altered, I could see two ways of limiting this problem: 1) Slightly reduce the damage of all locus grenades, whilst maintaining a clear damage difference in BSC/ADV/PROTO gear. 2) Reduce the amount of times Locus Grenades can be replenished at Supply Depots and Nanohives. I'm not sure how many times you can do this currently, but it seems like you can throw around 10 grenades before they stop being replenished.

A few other possible solutions:
-Allow grenades to be thrown back -Force grenades to be switched to, like equipment -Improve splash pattern so high-eHP suits (heavies) can be used as human shields, instead of the damage passing through bodies.
Otherwise, we can wait and see for that new equipment we're supposed to be getting- can't remember what it's called, but it's a deployable shield. |

If people could throw back grenades, then everyone would cook them first or they'd become next to useless as everyone plays hot potato. |

CCP/Shanghai has already modified some of the grenades. Not all locus type grenades provide three grenades and have been reduced to two.
Have your MD squad mate nuke them from afar. MD have much longer range than any grenade tosser. |

Once you have been re supplied a half dozen or so grenades it stops giving them, until that suit dies, truth be told though ambush is just nade, ar spam anyway always has been, except when someone vrings a tank!! |

What really got me was the other day in a skirmish match I saw a shotgunner creep up behind a MLT redberry. Instead of shooting him in the back, he cooks a locus grenade and blows him up with that!
I think some people's reliance on the locus grenade to make kills is insane, and I find these days in ambush games that literally as soon as I'm about to take aim at someone, 3 or 4 locus grenades immediately fly my way. It wouldn't be so bad if the damage was applied logically, like Scheneighnay McBob said, the splash pattern seems to go through bodies. I've seen far too many triple kills of late with grenades, and after trying them out myself I've realised it takes minimal skill to use. |

c'mon people! find a FPS without grenades being a 1HK Battlefield 3, ammo pack and ba-boom if someone fires 6 shots of his mass driver my direction is that spam? a sniper taking multiple shots to down you, is that spam?? an AR user hitting u with 30+ bullets, is this also spam?? the god damn HMG spams so many rounds it makes your head spin this is madness ..... Grenades are a weapon, learn to accept it If a guy is stood on his hive tossing frags theres two ways to deal with that 1. Go 4 the kill, he is stood in the hives radius not exactly hard to find 2. Back away and find another way to assault their position
or use the tactic of your average forum whiner and complain that its to much to deal with and have it weakened, good job players lets keep asking for nerfs on weapons/equipment/vehicles/grenades hey why not nerf the orbitals
soon we will be running around beating each other with rubber batons and firing BB guns Woop! |

grenades are tactical, but not right now. Can't they try to emulate real-life battle strategies? |

Agreed, I carry Locus Grenades in case I run into a Heavy while I've got my scrambler rifle out. I'm really only concerned with the ability of the grenades to be constantly thrown via ammo regen. I think for the most part the damage is probably okay. However I would be interested to know if it is possible to survive a Core Locus Grenade? |

Someone suggested having to switch to the grenades like an equipment, instead of the easy way we have it now. |

Make grenades something you have to switch to via the radial menu and increase the fuse timer on their higher tier ones. |
