The games difficulty should be tiered as follows.
High Security Match: Public matches, low difficulty PvE missions
Low Securty Match: Faction warfare (should have team damage enabled to 50%), Planetary Conquest (team damage 50%), med. difficulty PvE missions with a chance of assault by another player (stealing the PvE mission).
Zero/Negative Security Matche: Planetary Conquest (team damage 100%), Outpost capturing (combat on space stations with 100% team damage on), Insertions onto capital class warships (capture a capsuleers joy 100% team damage PvE mission with difficulty based upon the crew armament modules the EvE player fits which would probably be hellishly hard), PvE on planets which extremely high difficulty and the opportunity for other mercs to try and kill you to steal the PvE mission victory (team damage 100%).
You'll notice that at each tier the types of missions and the difficulty goes up? Well the payouts for wins should go up with each tier as well, and at the top tiers the payouts for loosing should be nothing. You failed to protect a district? Why should you get paid for that?

well, you can forget about ever being able to steal a capsuleers joyride, for one, in EVE, the only time it would be fair to allow them to be boarded, would not only be near-impossible to synq with a DUST match (sine the times and whatnot are so oddball you cant have full teams on-demand), and the area of time you would attack the ship, its likely going to die in minutes/seconds anyways.
not only that, the only armaments a capsuleer needs are the myriad of tank-sized drones roaming the hallways maintaining there ship, and also airloks/plasma vents routed through the ship. lets not forget pods can survive contact with anti-matter and nuclear, an EMP, and laser-based / etc weaponry quite easily, so very little a lone could carry or bring onboard a ship would even dent the capsule.
besides all of that, the backlash EVE players would have with their highly-expensive ships being lost to a mechanic they have no actual control over would incite a rage near-unpreedented, and i dubt CP would allow that (especially sine they want EVE to be more casual themepark anyways).
stations, eh, maybe/kinda, but not until they make them completely build-a-station customizable, so i can like eject pieces of the station as a DUST in control center, or a capsuleer, adn watch the enemies scurry to rash through the blast-shield doors to re-enter the station before their station-arm/hallway/hangar plummets into the atmosphere. |
