The problem with the scout is what everyone imagined the scout would be.

Everyone foresaw the scout as being a skintight suit that allowed you to infiltrate enemy installations undetected while sneaking up behind unsuspecting foes. People thought you'd be able to fade into the aether of space at the press of a button masking your signature from all methods of sight and detection.

What we really have is a skintight suit that dies when an enemy gazes at it hard enough and can barely fit anything worthy of use.

Scouts are broken.

What scout suit, what weapon, matchmaking against noobs?
Ya honestly I can't stand people posting this picture crap like its some kind of proof, when there not even full time scouts.

Not trying to sound like a jerk but pictures mean nothing, there's no proof ur not sniping, tanking or running around with a Ar.
Scouts I know are dead against rifles.

Running around in a militia armor tanked scout with a rifle isn't how most of use do it.
Plus once you hit proto an cant fit anything on ur suit because it's not enough.

These are a lot of problems with the scout that were trying to get fixed, can't speak for everyone but I hate it when some assault tourist in a cheap scout using a rifle try's to tell me the class is fine, it's not

Just a thought - if you fit your assault with dampeners and carried a scanner instead of a hive (I know I'm making presumptions here) do you feel you'd do better or worse playing scout style than an actual light/scout suit?

When I was trying to decide on my focus a while back I played mlt min-assault/mlt gallente light. There was only one thing, one specific moment that turned me over to the light side - I tried to jump some boxes in my assault and failed, where i knew the light frame succeeded.

Looks like you were poaching kills in a one-sided stomping...you had 50+ assists and perhaps a couple orbitals, am i wrong?

Also, dying 7 times in a stomping, or any match, is getting up kinda high.

Not too long ago lots of scouts used to roll with the AR. Now it is almost percieved as dirty to use an AR on a light.

I think most scouts are assumed and thought of as shot gunners. I would say that is the iconic scout role here in DUST.

IMHO - Its fine, use what you like. Experiment! That the nature of the eve universe.

However the shotgun scout has a lot of issues still. The light suits in general have issues too.

Dedication is scout, all ur sp in scout is scout, Cqc is scout, dealing with broken weapons to play cqc is scout, waiting for them to fix your class an dealing with it an not picking up a rifle is scout!

Seriously, do I need to say anything more than that? The assault rifle is the dominant weapon on the battlefield. Especially with the AutoAim. I could hand my toddler the controller with auto aim and an AR and they would manage to get kills. Try using a SCOUT weapon like a Shotgun or even better Nova Knives and tell us how easy it is.

Other "MILITIA SCOUTS/AR TOURISTS" come on here posting this crap when your not even a scout, I would never even start on saying anything about a class that I'm not, because when this game started it was about specializing .

We've been crapped on for months, an all it takes is someone like you to gain a ton of other AR users to hop the bandwagon an get the DEVS to back off of fixing it an months of our progress is lost.

So congrats you used a op weapon on a fast suit an got a great score, good for you maybe you should be a scout then an dump all your sp in it for months, is it worth leaving your assault suit for , and the rifle?

We play scouts with knives, an shotguns, an melees because it's man mode!
You can you use a rifle in Any shooter so it's boring, dust let's you be different, an id rather be a good scout with a low kdr using the hardest possible play style than be just another idiot with a gun.
I go no gun an get 27 kills, and 3 matches like that beats anything you get with a gun!
28 kills with remotes alone, no other weapons, cuz that's man mode, even my two year old got 4 kills with a faylock, back when it killed just as fast as a AR does now.

Point being, skills mean nothing now, the game changed, an it's because of that dumb gun, an you getting that many kills, sorry to say is the gun, not you.
Unless you always got those scores before 1.4 but I doubt it. Cause personally it wouldn't matter what suit you wore as long as you had a rifle an some speed, so one match with that score doesn't deserve the title, sorry but if you knifed that many people, every scout would praise you an that's the difference .
For now your a tourist, so hopefully I pissed you off enough to get off the fence an you proto a scout an drop that rifle an become the best shot gunner there is, but if not.......... Use ur rifle
