I believe the community would like to hear your input on the current state of the heavy. I personally feel like we were better off before the patch. Wasn't this patch supposed to bring that fear and relevance back to the heavy class? I'm not complaining and I'm doing ok as of now. I don't think we're half as bad as most of these threads are making it sound. I do think we could use a little tweak though. What is your view of the situation? Anything in the pipeline for us fatties? If we were dying out in 1.3, my fat friends seem to have encountered genocide in 1.4. I personally don't feel this way, but the masses speak for themselves. |

Heavies should get higher resistance to explosive damage.
Heavies should gain 10% faster repair from repair tools.
Introduce a HMG variant that roots the user to the ground when firing, but with much improved range and accuracy.
Introduce the rest of the racial heavy suits.
Those are my thoughts as a logibro who loves repairing heavies. Also as a dropship pilot who wants to see heavies drop into the middle of a fight and rain hell on enemies. |

I feel that heavies are just fine.
This is coming from the demented prick using standard Forge Gun and the Dren suit with nothing higher than standard. I also don't use any plates on it.
A HEAVY WITH NO ARMOR TANK?! WHAT?!
Yeah. It's crazy, but it's been pretty amazing so far without it. I'll put my usual build up and explain my point of view.
H3 DREN FG--
'Dren' Sentinel A-1
Forge Gun
Breach Flaylock Pistol
Flux Grenade
Basic Light Damage Modifier
Militia Cardiac Regulator
Militia Kinetic Catalyzer (or Militia Range Amplifier, which I use now)
Before you read the next bit, question why it's built this way.
The HMG is currently outclassed by the AR. The damage is currently has was grand for the previously broken hit detection. The current damage needs a small decrease, but that's only because the hit detection is radical right now. Nothing more. I carry a Flaylock, more precisely the Breach variant, because two things. 1. I think it's hilarious. 2. It still works because of Flux Grenades. The Cardiac Regulator allows me to regain my stamina back quicker and run a bit further. As a heavy, this is grand. Why militia though? I don't need anything more. It serves my purpose greatly. If you haven't come to the conclusion yet, this is a glass cannon. I've used the FG long enough to where it comes down simply... Them or me. I'd like to think myself extremely precise with it, despite using the controller with no aim assist.
I used to play Unreal Tournament in the day. A lot. It's still a favorite of mine. My tracking ability is bloody amazing in my opinion. Unfortunately, targets standing is my weakness. Hitting moving targets was the thing back in the days.
Sigh.
TL;DR So, my opinion is the heavies are fine. |
