I've noticed since the new build came out that hit detection with sniper rifles seems off - sometimes I land a shot and no damage is dealt, but the vic responds like they have been hit, suddenly retreating, jumping around, and/or sprinting for cover. I've also been hit once or twice, had the screen flash, hit indicator, and sound fx to prove it, but haven't taken damage. Anyone else notice this? The other weird thing I've found is an apparent issue with rendering/layering when looking through a sniper scope. There are times I can see someone perfectly clearly through the scope, when I know full well they are hidden behind an obstacle, and other times a red dot will dissappear in an open field or along an unbroken wall only to reappear a few steps later. What's going on, CCP? |

I have had shots miss that should have hit(both sniper and AR/Scrambler).
I have also noticed enemy overlays when sniping are showing in front of the building(an example being enemies on top of the towers on Line Harvest and me counter sniping them from the ground). |

What's going on, CCP? I don't the names of the maps, but I'm one particular domination game there is a wall with a few sight splits it, that reds were running back and forth behind, but they appeared clearly like they were in front, then if the twitched a little they would start rendering back behind the wall and out of sights, but my scope still knew they were back there. They stood still long enough to fire a bunch of rounds to tell they were not being hit... I don't know how all this is supposed to work, but it sure doesn't seem right... I also have experience similar with folks on top of buildings, they technically get out of your POV but you can see them running to the other end and the scope still has a red dot on them |

I've seen it a bit with regular POV while running around, but never with a sniper scope until 1.4 came out. The scope used to be pretty flawless imhop. What you saw was what you hit, not so much anymore. I've given my position away a few times thinking I was taking a clean shot only to find i was shooting a wall with someone hiding behind it. On the flip side, I'm wary of firing on infantry sometimes, because the hit detection seems to sometimes coincide with the visual, sometimes with the actual map layout. Sometimes I can't hit someone who has inexplicably disappeared in a clean location, sometimes I can - It's making sniping much less effective as a support role. |

It could be that you actually missed and they heard the shot. Hit detection will never be perfect.
It could also be the range. Perhaps you were at super long range and thus was doing negligible damage? |

You are right I have seen persons standing beside a wall, when in fact they are on the other side. Also hit detection is way off, I can fire to the left or right of person and hit and if I aim center I miss. This is not all the time but definitely close to being all the time that it is frustrating. I shot a person 5 times and all 5 times missed, dot turned red, info appeared, well withing target and nothing. So being a sniper is no longer as fun as it used to be. Side note I am tired of seeing a 1200 HP heavy running around being a sniper. You shoot them once and they can find cover and then they come right back just sitting on the red line. No way to kill them the conventional way, any ideas as to counter this problem. |

I've assumed it was a miss sometimes, but when it's someone standing still hacking, or another sniper, I'm fairly confident in my aim. I did read something about the sniper rifle effective range being diminished with this build, anyone know anything about that? I've been playing this game since last february and am a decent sniper, but all of a sudden it's just not as fun, and I know it's not as useful to my team... |
