It just makes it pretty clear to you when you get all that fancy shield flashes without any of the hp bar drop. you haven't played the game then, all my shots are finally registering, im no longer getting the blank shot, im actually doing damage now. if hit detection wasn't fixed, people wouldt be arguing that aim assist works. no hit detection= people dont think about aim assist since it doesn't matter because their shots wont matter anyway. fixed hit detection= people complaining that they are dying to quickly because all shots are registering now.
HROF and exsplosive based weaponry now has good hit detection, your talking no more than 5% detection error. But boltshot weaponry, which fall in the same class as shotgun (sniper, tac, scr pistol) are still on order of 40-60% detection error, a whole clip of burst scr p+žstol did nothing yesterday, I barely escaped with my life!! |

Hit detection seems to be working better for auto weapons the most.
Well its probably to do with the method it would appear boltshots use a different function to determine hit detection, however im confident it will be fixed in .5 they even have a nova knifes fix!! |

Its not that HROF s are masking it, there hit detection has improved immeasurably, I used to be able to walk in a straight line and mow an enemy down scr pistol, I cant do that. The shotgun hd was improved in a hotfix, not completly fixed, .5 should deal with the last of hit detection problems!! |

Don't get me wrong CCP has improved Hit detection greatly no question but there are still issues with hit detection all I wanted to say is that HROF weapons seem to cover these issues better than single shot weapons :)
Oh they will, you will never get perfect hit detection, unless you make every shootable object the size of bus, well at least their hitbox, with HROF weapons it runs in loop calling hiscan, 12 times a sec (for ar) if one hitscan call fails it wont effect the next, boltshots require a little more panache because the hitscan call is different, and if there is a constant variable like stopping it the larger "round" is more likely to miss fire!!
Bursts usally call them in batches because looping it is a lot of bother, which why if one fails they all fail, youll never have half a burst not register!!
