It is difficult enough to hit a target while flying and not running into something and dodging swarm launchers. It is also difficult to hit anything from the side of a dropship while your pilot banks and turns and lines up there own targets. A copilot/gunner position could put dropships back into the battle as an integral part of a mercs arsenal. it could function the same as the turrets on the tanks, shielding the gunner from snipers and allowing them a 360 degree swiveling turret with zoom. Basically sticking a small turret on the front/bottom of the dropship and giving a second player control over it. It could be an alternate fitting for the python, instead of a fixed turret for the pilot you could fit a copilot turret. |

Having trouble... hitting people... as a gunner ya your instinct is to look around while operating a turrent but what you should do is always face 12-o'clock. ie the front, never look around... if you pilot is worth his/her salt... they will face the enemy for you... and you just ruin their day.... by constant fire, also the guns on a dropship for the gunners should be cycled or accelerated. and the front mount on an assault drop ship should be fragmented missles... only should use missiles on dropships... its the only real viable option right now... |

Never use Rail and Blaster-Unless your pilot Knows you and well stop for you, fragmented is a big thing that is what is easy to hit those with cycled is to take out Tanks-I've had people take em' out atleast 3 times when I have tried in my dropship(] (Don't usually bring that one in) and accelerated is an eeehhh. So I mean you have to be good to gun because when I have randoms who jump in my dropship and gun down people Im like "Dude, I love you" because I can atleast get points driving it. So I say a hover mode because when you move a little bit it kicks some speed after a while. |
