Seeing as threads about respecs are made all the time, I think it would be a good idea to made a sticky on the general discussion and request boards on what the situation on respecs is.
Cause its all speculation and finding a dev response is a bit ambiguous its inciting people to ask if we are going to have one in the next patch or ever again.
I personally would like to know as I wasted my SP (and ISK but its easier and much less limited to get) and wish to reuse it in a better manner.
Searching brings up a whole lot of threads basically of people asking whats going on, and other people telling them to STFU. When you search for dev posts, they are all from the first ever respec which doesn't help one bit.
It would be great if we could get a finalizing stickied dev post at least saying if we are or are not getting a respec of some manner in the next update. |

Even so, it would so help SO much if we got a clarifying yes or no from a Dev which would shut up everyone. |

Absolutely sounds like an awesome idea, sticky a NO RESPEC FOR ANYONE UNDER ANY SITUATION at the top of the feedback as well as general discussion threads and be done with all the QQ about it. |

I asked for two respecs when they were doing those AND I STILL HAVE TWO POINTS IN CORP MANAGEMENT. I even asked them specifically to remove those points. |

Corp management SP points were not removed from any character who had them. Just thought you might want to know.
And yes, it would be helpful to pin it. Mostly for the new people who see some thread about respecs and think, "I could use one of those!". |

They will not ''sticky'' anything,because CCP might reconsider the respec as an option. Why? Because CCP is a GAME COMPANY,and they depend on player base.If the majority of the player base ends up agreeing into having respecs, CCP might need to do them,in some way or another.

Case in point, the last respec after being told in at the end of open beta there would be no more respecs, having a respec in the next few short months was shocking. |

A sticky saying where devs stand on the mater is a good idea and helps with confusion and duplicate thread.
Now my opinion is that we shouldn't do respecs unless CCP does some drastic change or something and im not talking about balancing but more like they separate all variants of the current weapons as well as completely change the bonuses in the skill tree. That would would be a good reason to respec.
however because you have sp in a skill you don't use isn't a reason for a respec. All it means is you wasted sp. balancing has only once made a weapon unable to kil or get points and that was when AV couldn't kill tanks back in closed beta. And besides if they made it so that you get a respec when ever you ask for it it would only be an exploit. Or if you could use AUR to get respecs... nothing but pay to win.
TL:DR respecs are exploit unless extreme change to skills an equipment. |
