Been saving for my proto suit but now is it even worth it? I like the hit detection fix as I used to hate pumping two clips into a heavy to kill him but not liking the overall TTK. Proto used to give you a nice advantage (I bought some NEO suits) but now it seems like it could be a waste of ISK. Had two buddies quit playing because they feel like they're hard earned SP don't mean anything and I'm starting to feel the same with the exception of my SPs in guns and equipment. |

If you're going racial proto, you still get the bonus, which is what I use it for. I don't run my proto suits very often (1 a day maybe), its the bonus that makes it worth while. |

It can be profitable but if you die more than twice it's a giant ISK sink. |

Proto is always worth it if you want to get the most out of your suit.
It is also great for people without maxed core skills to put together banging fits with less than 10 million SP. |

Still very worth it. You just have to be a little bit smarter about when you want to drop it in. I have always escalated my fits in battle. First spawn is usually something cheap, with a drop link, ammo ect. I try to set my self up to drop in my more expensive fits later. As the fight goes on, I can determine if I need to step my fitting up for some more whoop ass. or if my team is getting slaughtered, i can just stay cheap and make $$$

I agree that proto suits are not meant for 'god mode'; they simply have more H/L slots, PG, CPU, and equipment slots. However I hate that the price jumps drastically from ADV-->PROTO. Its almost an 800% increase in price( or 8x the amount of an ADV suit). Price just needs to be more balanced IMO. |

Proto is not really that useful.
It's great if your trying to min max, but in an FPS, tactics and squad/environmental awareness will trump all.
You can take an advanced suit quite far, and for a fifth of the price. Just put that SP into your core skills, buff up your regular suits before you take the unnecessary plunge into prototype.
But hey, if your already maxed out with your core skills (at least to level 4) then go for it.

Coming from a guy that uses a proto min scout every match, yeah still totally worth it. |

The entire point of hte jump in price is to reduce proto use.
Sadly, most of the diehards have huge fortunes, and can run proto without pause. The only people complaining about the expense are new bros without corp backing.
If the market ever floats, expect the price of proto to go way up. |

For the sake of proto stomps, I hope the price of proto suits goes way up. Then again, players/corps with massive wallets won't experience the same hit many other corps will. Maybe if I use my Cerebral Bore I can chase protos away.......RUN PROTOS!! |

Cal Logi but I'm thinking of skilling into Win Logi as I like the hack bonus a lot more than the regulator bonus. Plus 4 equipment slots is nasty and with the way time to kill is and aim assist is, you're lucky to regen before the next guy pops you. I'm already at the standard level as I've got the Elite pack and skilled into all the BPO suits with the exception of the Heavy.
My post was just really to see how the proto players feel about it and if they still feel like they have an advantage. Honestly I don't notice too much difference from when I'm running a standard suit or an advanced suit. I mainly run my standard bpo suits and when I see a lot of proto suits I switch to adv. I used to do great with just my standard suits because I'm good at shooting but now it seems everyone is pretty good at shooting.

This is probably what I'll do, I'm at 9 mil SP with 1.2 free and once this event ends after next week I could go proto but I've got a lot of core skills to 3-4 and could use some more into hacking/cpu pg upgrades for my blueprints. Damn... looks like it'll be another month or two before I jump to proto. |
