Ever since 1.4 dropped, I can't help but get the feeling that there are WAYYY more scrambler rifles on the field than pre-1.4.
Are scrams becoming the new goto weapon (as the TAC was before the nerf).... due to their longer general range than ARs and their higher accuracy, combined with improved hit detection and such in 1.4?
...because I seem to be dying about the same as in 1.3.... but SCRs seem to be killing me more often now than other weapons. |

I've used Scram Rifles since they came out, and I"ve noticed since 1.4 dropped I deal a lot more damage than usual. Granted, I put two Complex Dam. mods on my suit, but shredding mercs has been a little easier lately. |

Except me, myself and I, i hardly see or hear anyone using the SCR and ive been specced into mine since the respec and never specced out the second respec.
And if you see a scrambler its mostly the assault variant, the SCR takes quite a bit of skill to use, more so then the Tac used to need, so i doubt it that your bee seeing more of them, its not exactly spray & pray friendly. |

Aim assist means shots are hitting you more often. The ScR is a high-damage, low-RoF weapon which means the shots count for more. The prevalence of shield tanks also allows ScR to flourish with aim assist and better hit detection. |

Again with this? There will always be a go to weapon. Get over it. Now if ccp would buff everything then there wouldn't be a go to weapon. But no you tryhards want your gun to be strong and everyone elses guns to be weak so you do this and start crying nerf. Any one crying for a nerf is whats killing this game. If you want to help this game you should be calling for buffs. |

OH I don't want the Scram Rifle nerfed. The AR has bored me( besides the Tac AR) and the Scram Rifle is much more fun to use with the charge shot. But the aim assist/hit detection/whatever excuse to whine about weapons doing more damage needs to be stomped out. |

I've been seeing a lot more of the basic Scramblers, the change to operation skill plus amarr assault bonus means people can fire off a good number of shots without overheating. Seen people deal 1k+ in damage in a matter of a few seconds uncharged.
I've had them since respec two and have prof 5, so I tend to carry them with me as I go, but since I lack amarr assault, I use the Assault variant.
CCP, think we could get a basic assault variant at OP 2? It would only make sense... |

They make sense as a counter to the AR.
If you get the first shot to hit the target has to decide to hide, or commit to a race to the bottom. Also if you deal damage at range, you can easily be more effective at damaging your target than the plasma AR (current AR). |

ScR should not be as effective towards armor like it is right now. In theory ScR should be a shield tanks bane and if you have a caldari suit suit with ScR and gallente with Plasma rifle AR, then galente should win. But that is not the case right now. |

Mind you the blaster rifle should be a close range high ROF weapon that does less damage to armor ( I think don't quote me on that last bit) but it dosen't do that at all. |

But honest. I don't give a tihs anymore. CCP is messing this game up more with every update. |

The only difference is that they actually register. your best bet to survive an encounter with a SR at long range is to keep moving. same as the tac rifle |

Meh. Maybe are, maybe they aren't.
Most people run shield-tanks. Scramblers are supposed to rip through them but then they also rip-through armor quickly, although in defense I believe most Scrambler users are probably aiming at my head. 2 Shots from the damn thing and I'm down. One headshot from it and I can respect the death and the shooter. |

The Scr is only 80% effective against armor. The base dmg is so high though that this still means your doing about 60 base dmg to armor per shot....and its likely slightly more than that. |

The way ScRs work is that the damage steadily drops off over time. You have a MUCH higher likelihood of surviving a ScR attack the longer it is attacking you...as opposed to an AR. Because the the charged shot will be >50% of the damage the gun will ever do in a series of shots before waiting for a cooldown. |

Well if you're doing Caldari or Amarr FW that is to be expected, of course. If you're just doing pub matches, well I don't know. I would say personally the skill change from reduced charge up time to increased cooldown rate has helped a lot more than any aim assist. |
