They changed it in the first place in a misguided attempt to make Dropships better.
It was a terrible attempt at an improvement, so they're going to look into other options. |

I was REALLY PISSED! This is like the third time they fked with my bread n butter! Cant see ANYTHING except the roof of ship! Cant even play bumper ships anymore............WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The worst part is, I use air brakes to land. Meaning I come in full speed and land on a dime! You CAN NOT air brake if you cant see the ENTIRE ship! It must be at a certain angle to work correctly! Lost 4 ships first match ON TAKE OFF! Dropship roof meets MCC belly! |

I believe the reason they changed the camera angle was due to assault dropship pilots complaining that they couldn't see or hit targets when they went under their dropships.
This new camera does make hitting ground targets much easier, my best game in 1.4 is 22-0 had another one 17-0. So if you look at it as them fixing the aim for assault dropships then they did a pretty good job.
Though the view for many pilots, including my self, is that this change has also brought a lot of un-welcomed changes. Such as not being able to see your engines, reduced FOV, gunners health no longer showing up, the dropships butt taking up the whole screen and the difficulty dropping troops accurately.
So I started a Petition to return the 1.3 dropship camera angle. Feel free to support this. |
