No. If you want to use higher tiered gear earlier, buy it with aurum. That's kind of the point. |

A nice idea but but no, I don't agree with this one. If this would be implemented; Dust 514 would be considered a Pay to Win even more so than it already is (its not). |

As much as I am facepalming, I have to say that I have thought of something similar, something that maybe gives you a little bit less SP than active booster gives and has a limitied number of uses per week. And then I instantly realized that we already have this; it's called Passive Booster. So, back to facepalming. |

CCP has stated that this is not going to be a pay to win game, get freaky with your controller. Matches have been "balanced" make use of boosters like the rest of Dust and you should have no problem making SP.
+1 TO CCP for NOT making this a PTW game (boosters cost aurum, does that mean PTW??) |

+1 TO CCP for NOT making this a PTW game (boosters cost aurum, does that mean PTW??) I do fine without ever buying stuff with AUR, but then again I've been around since chromosome... But due to my many characters my highest one only has 8.5 mil SP. My buddy started a little over one month ago with all manner of boosters, hes already at 3 mil. Sooo might be PTW? |

Why not? I hardly have any SP yet I'm expected to fight people with 30 Million!!
Why should I not be able to buy 20 million SP? Especially as CCP have not sorted out the SP rollover system.
It's not pay to win because SP is available to everyone in game. |

Pay to win: The act of paying real money for an advantage over other players without having to put in any time, or effort from the money paid in.
You're begging for the textbook definition of pay to win. To skip weeks, if not months of gameplay just so you can be on the same level as those who've worked to get to the top. |

no, thats NOT pay to win. Pay to win is, spend real money to get items better than anything you can get by grinding.
We already have "skip weeks if not months of gameplay". That's the boosters. It's not INSTANT. But it still basically skips you ahead if you dont have time to cap out your SP each week.

No this would make dust a pay to win game ,Dust is a free game and adding the ability to buy sp not only throws free to play out the window but also makes it unfair to people who have played this game long enough to earn 12mil etc they have now. Yes it would make more of a profit but one of the reasons I've played so long is to skill into new gear and if i could have just bought the sp I needed I would have gotten bored a long time ago. |

1: This would make Dust P2W, as everyone could essentially pay for a year or so worth of grinding, and that would make all the vets quit, as you basically made them work for a year for nothing, all so you could be on the same level as them.
2: You don;t even play with them anymore (unless you are in the same SP bracket as them, in which case you have plenty enough SP) because of MM.
3: Boosters lower the time it takes to get X SP. It's not instant SP, and therefore isn't P2W. |

Reintroduction of skill spikes (think 'Neo' suits but for skills) would be great. What's more even with the two combined, spikes and Neo, there wouldn't be a balance issue so long as the AUR suits aren't gaining racial benefits from the AUR skills.
Give both a "try before you by" style option with the only way to get the full effect being actual game play and use of solid ISK/SP rather than AUR derived.

How are SP Boosters that allow you access to better (requiring less player skill for equal efficacy) equipment at a faster rate than what would be available to you through fundamental gameplay skills, and are not purchasable with in-game currency, not be P2W?
Implement equal value Boosters on the ISK Market, and then that argument will have legs.
Until then, P2FnW. |
