Nouvelle Rouvenor was the catalyst that started the tragic series of events that have led to this day. Also, if we had the same kind of government today that we did then, I suspect the war would be a much more active endeavour than it is.

Admiral Noir's betrayal was a shock to us all, and I have never understood why he did what he did, and I doubt I ever will. For such a friendly and well-respected man to turn to such hatred at a peace summit for no apparent reason stuns me. He'd committed his entire life to peace between our empires, and to turn on that in the last moments of his life for an insane kamikaze attack against one of the more reasonable state corporations was absolutely mad.

By the time Heth attacked, Caldari Prime had been a sovereign Gallente world for 200 years. Though there were a few Caldari people, the vast majority of the population was Gallentean.
Regardless, Heth threatened to glass the entire system, including Gallente Prime and numerous other high population worlds. Is that really reasonable for one world that belonged to them two hundred years ago?
