So thanks to 1.4 we've got auto aim. This has increased the frequency of death and gear losses, which is resulting in massive losses in ISK. And to add to this reality we now have equipment restrictions that hurt WP opportunities for support logis and therefore hurt our ability to earn decent ISK. Come on, CCP! You're killing the logi bros! Support play is a thankless job and it's starting to become expensive.
Make uplinks team-based again and get rid of this auto aim! |

Im glad that uplinks are squad only. I am of the opinion they are simply too easy to abuse when they can be used by the entire team and it disrupts the gameplay too much. But hey, this one is kind of on the fence. I think too many people use cookie cutter assault fits and there is not enough utility from the players. More people need to be using scanners, injectors, and uplinks. It needs to be a team effort. |

I use the hacked uplinks. Are those team-only? Because sometimes half of it gets used up, and there's half of the nanohives left as well, because blue dots all seem to spawn on those, shoot down, and use up all the ammo instead of jumping down to try to get something done.
Hacked uplinks are definitely team spawn. Maybe something else isn't, I wouldn't know. |

I've seen them all flash on or off for me and my squad. I don't think they are definitely one or the other. They are like schrodinger's uplinks. They exist in a state of superposition, both team AND squad, and NOT team OR squad all at the same time. |

Most answer i get when i ask how uplinks work ether start with "I'm pretty sure" or end with "I think"
I don't believe anything i hear about uplink anymore.
I would love for a dev to tell me for sure. this thread is a good example of people still after a year having no clue. |

I was running Uplinks in a 2-man squad and while we were running around together and not dying, I was seeing "Team Spawn" popups occasionally.
If this is happening, it isn't happening all the time, or isn't happening with every Uplink variant. |

The points still pop up as team spawn, but your squadmates are the only ones who are able to spawn. If you're not in a squad then only people who are also not in a squad are able to spawn from your uplinks. |

This is absolutely true. Go into a pub match and switch squads throughtout the match. You'll clearly see that uplinks will appear and disappear on the map as you pop in and out of squads. See an uplink? It means you're in a squad who has a player who dropped one. Switch squads and see the first uplink disappear? Yeah, it means you can't spawn on that squads uplink now.
As someone who used to regularly score 3,000+ WP a round without a single kill, I promise you this is how uplinks work now. The same exact playstyle gets me around 1,500 WP and it's because far fewer points are coming from spawns. |

As a one man squad, your uplinks may have somehow been eligible for the other nonsquad players in the match. Believe me when I tell you that uplinks aren't working like before. I used to have a nonstop flow of +25 team spawn notices bombard my screen, but the uplinks are now squad only and my WP is way lower now.
Again, just go into a pub match and squad hop. You'll see uplinks appear and reappear as you scroll between the squads. |

I can't speak for the possible differences between pub and pc matches prior to 1.4. Pub matches were definitely producing way more spawns than they are now. |

I do.
All uplinks are supposed to be squad only except the hacked uplink which is for the entire team.
If you are not in a squad then everyone else who isn't squadded counts as your squad(which is why you get spawns when running solo).
That being said, in 1.3 uplinks were bugged and sometimes allowed non squad members to use your uplinks. This may have been fixed in 1.4 but I haven't played long enough in 1.3 to know for sure(although it looks like they're finally working as intended). |

I remember someone saying that a squad member's being in proximity to an uplink unlocks it for access to your squad, at least temporarily. This would to some degree explain what people in this thread have been seeing. |

I seem to remember a dev replying in an Uplink thread a while ago saying that all Uplinks are supposed to be teamwide. I just can't find that post currently 
There's just a lot of mixed answers in this thread. Some say they're in a squad and get spawns from non squad members, other say they don't etc. A while back I believe the Uplinks were bugged so sometimes they wouldn't show up for some people or something, so this might be the case here as well. |

None of the uplinks distiguish as different in the descriptions....except for the fact that the hacked on says its usable by everyone...meaning "militia". in fact the word clones is used in all descriptions....
If one of the uplinks had the feature of working on the hole team it wouldnt be in the description?comon
or the fact that they only work for your squad isnt written any where officiall including the description

although I have tested what you said with squad jumping and saw the uplinks change, i think it might be a glitch going on or there s a factor that we dont know about it that flicks them on for other squads...
This would be perfect for a DEV to Jump in and just let us know..

I can at least confirm that people not in my 1-man squad can use my Uplinks, but what might be happening is that only the squadless people can see and use them, ie other squads can't.
So it might be that
If you're in a squad you can use your squad's Uplinks as well as Uplinks deployed by people not in a squad. However you can't use Uplinks deployed by people in other squads.
If you're not in a squad you can use all Uplinks deployed.
I don't really want to confirm this, but I suspect it might work a bit like this. |

Not entirely true, since people are spawning on my Uplinks and I'm in my own squad.
As I said, it might be that all squadless people can spawn on anyone's Uplinks, but once you're in a squad you can no longer spawn on other squads' Uplinks, but only on your own squad's Uplinks as well as squadless peoples' Uplinks. |

But don't active scanners only show enemy players and enemy gear on the battlefield? It's not like a scan will uncover all of your teams own uplinks, right? |

It is a big mystery, something that a dev could solve in about 1min.
-my uplinks seem to be working team based. I dont use miltia uplinks. but I do use all the others. (droplink, stable drop links, and r-9)
I do know the following is 100% true:
-While not in squad others can use my uplinks
-while in squad, Squad members and OTHERS can use my uplinks

-can use uplinks without seeing them first.
what I believe to be atleast 90% true:
While in or out of squad, i can use Other squad uplinks.
While in out of squad, Other squads can use my uplinks.
the reason I think this, Was just testing this in a match, there were 3 blue berrys not in a squad the rest of the team was squaded up. I was in a 1 man squad. there were atleast 15+ uplinks spread over the map, Unless it was those 3 blue berrys putting all those down, They had to be other squads.

I rarely squad up( My friends don't play DUST and I refuse to squad up with randoms that don't send orders verbally or mechanically ) and I always place down uplinks. Seems like I still get team spawn points. |
