I like this game and I want it to succeed, but I am afraid it might fail. Why? Too many people complaining about everything and CCP l listening to the wrong people. Example? Too many too list, but let's pick one. People complained about the old matchmaking which I did not find anything wrong with and what do we get? A complete mess of new matchmaking system that does not do a better job than the old one matching people and it is full of issues. Growing up my parents always told me if I want to be the best I have to hang out with the best. They never told to hang out with average people just so I can feel better about myself..... Anyways, I hope CCP irons out all the issues and the game gets better with time. I would like to be playing Dust in 10 yrs from now! |

Uh the new matchmaking once the bugs on day one got fixed is amazing, haven't been stomped or stomped the crap out of anyone since then, always very close and hardfought battles. |

*edited* with what your parents told you that is true, however this does not apply to people trying to kill you, in shooters if there is a massive skill gap between players the player at the top of the skill gap gets nothing but boredom and the player at the bottom of the skill gap gets nothing but frustration, you need to play against people of similar skill level some slightly better than you and some slightly worse than you to get the best chance to get better. If the skill gap is too large a new player can't even figure out what they did wrong to even begin to improve.
The matchmaking is really just a generic band-aid for the terrible SP system. |

CCP needs to be open to community feedback but also know when to make an executive decision based on their experience or what they think is best in the long/short term.
Example: 1.6 They could listen to all the players saying, DO THIS, DO THAT.
Or they could say, "Hey, we have the big picture. We know what needs to be done, sequentially to get Dust moving along at a good pace to a good place. Here is what we are going to be working on next AND WHY.
then scan for helpful suggestions, ideas, concerns. Then go for it. If they're constantly being whipped back and forth by players into doing X,Y,Z it's 2 step forward 3 steps back.
On another note we do not need a test server. Too much work. What we do need is video footage /demonstrations of patches before they hit so we can comment on them. This could save lots of re-doing work like with the dropship camera changes. |

If this game was CCP's only game then they would already be shutting off the servers and closing their doors then heading home to look for other jobs. However, its not so this game will continue to stay afloat due to EVE Online's success. As long as EVE Online is doing well and someone in CCP thinks this game makes just enough money to justify its existence then it will remain regardless of how broken its game mechanics are in comparison to other good FPS games. |

This game is already fail, its not a might, its a reality. Only ones left are nonfactors who can enjoy an FPS that panders to their crappiness. The rest of the FPS players left long ago or will move along once this gaming drought ends. Dust is just terribad, only ones who disagree are irrelevant baddies who are better suited to COD where the casual FPSer with no gungame like to play. |

Sweeping generalizations like the one you stated tend to apply to yourself when you are posting on the forums of the game you are talking about. If you don't still play why do you care one way or another what goes on here. Unless you are either e a useless troll or an attention ***** either way your statements do not matter because they only serve to inflame and bolster your own ego. |

Another issue is the SP as someone already mentioned. Passive SP needs to be removed from the game and increase the active SP. |

Why the duck every sucker keeps on the nonfactor charade, saying that doesn't prove you right, better, or more important than the rest of the community, just makes you look like a rage bi***, and by it: as a sh**** player The fact is that COD players would beat you any day any time, included the demented Halo followers; but even that example is silly, cuz those games are different in so many ways to Dust, similar yet totally different animals
Dust isnGÇÖt going down any time soon so your post is proved wrong
Look at reality you're not important so if you wonGÇÖt be doing something constructive and you donGÇÖt like the game then donGÇÖt play it and GTFO from the forums, cuz you know what? no one cares about you and your stupid shi*

Almost a week since one of thsee "why this game is/will fail..." threads.
This game will die because console players are fickle and run to every FotM release. The farther we get down the chain of new releases, the farther the distance becomes between Dust and former players.
The F2P, P2W, FPS market is going to explode on next gen consoles with entries from proven console developers with their own fan base.

Nah its not a generalization, one need only look at the people who comment, its all scrubs who like aim assist, well that and really the only ones left that play are scrubs, the good players left long ago. I come back here because every king needs their jester, and the latest hilarity in these forums are comedic gold. For instance a random nonfactor actually stated that Counter Strike, MAG, COD, and other console FPS games that he's played are on par with Dust and its a good FPS, hilarious stuff. |

Why did games like Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem succeed in the 90's? by the way I played all of them back in day. They were tons of fun and there was no matchmaking or SP! |

BTW, I bought an used Xbox and might be trying Halo 4. I never played Halo before since I never owned a Xbox.....
Mainly due to the lack of options, why do games like COD and BF succeed today? Because its easier to pander to a crowd who wants easy gun game, and a bug turned into a feature *cough cough* quickscoping *cough cough* |
