This matchmaking system still has a lot of faults. Today I was squaded up with a bunch of alt characters. Each of us used a different PSN account than our main characters are on. Collectively our squad had about 17 million SP. I was consistantly running into people from TeamPlayers and Ancient Exiles. Protocake JR, Tank Gorilla+smexy gorrillarape, and 13ear+someone+ Alldin Kan (using officer weapons in a pub). Each of those players has more SP than our squad did. I thought the matchmaking system was to prevent this from happening? |

After about 10 million SP it doesn't really matter much. At that point gains are either very small or they've started to cross train into other roles. Matchmaking has to be a balance between speed and tight parameters. We want to get into matches quickly and the server population is too small to be picky. |

this happened to a friend of mine before the 1.4 update he started to spec into a heavy role, after receiving his diploma and leaving school one of his first matches was against team players and outer heaven at this point he only had about 900k SP so i really think that something is up with match making. |

The before 1.4 times were bad at match making. Basically it was just first come first served. Having the bad luck to be placed against TeamPlayers and Outer.Heaven was extra bad. Those guys like to stick together to maximize survival and firepower so I switch to extra speedy and cheap fit and run around hacking everything behind them. |

I have almost 14 mil, barely anything invested in weapons, and I still feel like I have **** to do lol. Come talk to me when you have a dropsuit maxed out, everything in dropsuit upgrades, 1 or 2 weapons completely speced into, weapon upgrades, explosives, and then maybe I'll listen, i'd estimate that around around 30-35 mil and that's not even including vehicles lol.
Anyway did you say 27 mil? Is that really what people have right now? Just holy crap, some people spend way too much time on this game, I hear ya though I went up against 13ear months ago when the tac assault was still weapon of the month, got my ass kicked, felt good to shove a forge gun shell in his face recently though :)
They probably modified the matchmaking a little bit after that first day of 1.4, it's not perfect but I've noticed a bit less of the uneven matches, except when it ends up like 2 vs 6, still needs some work and for that I'll be fine waiting. |

The only way you get better is to play the best I would like to play teamplayers a lot more than we do. In our first PC they stomped us. Since then we still can't be them in PC but they know they were in a fight. I know if we played them all the time eventually we would beat them. We are not afraid of these corps anymore. I would like to personally thank them for making me and my corp better. Accept the challenge, it will make you better in the long run. I always want to play the best it is the only way to make victory taste the sweetest. |

Vets pubstomping together is as old as Dust. The only way to fix it will be to add squad-free playmodes. Or substantially increase our playerbase. |

I was pretty sure the reason they made a new match making system was so that these guys running around with officer weapons in pubs wouldn't be facing a team where no one had the SP to use prototype gear.
What exactly was this match making change supposed to do if it wasn't that?

It takes way more than 10mill sp to max your role. More like 18-20mill before you spec into another role.
Snipers need less than 10mill sp to max the role.
Heavys need about 10mill to max there role.
Assaults and logis need 18-22mill to max there role.
Saying at 10mill SP that your on even ground with a guy that has 15mill+ is extremely false... |

I have noticed that even when I use my alt on another PSN account, which has half the SP of my main and not even proto suit yet, that I run into the same exact players I do while on my main with full proto.
It's possible MM is grouping people by their IP address (since technically my "skill" hasn't changed from my main to alt, just my fittings) in order to prevent players with high skill levels from entering lower skill matches regardless of what account or PSN account they use.
Either that, or the MM is faulty and will place you in certain matches no matter what skill you, or the other players on the team, have. |

But what was the outcome of the match?
Sure they may have had more SP then your squad, but how much of that can actually be utilized per spawn?
I haven't been in many matches with them, but the couple I did, they lost or it was very close.
MM is working. Go into a match, be bold. Don't be intimidated if you're with your squad. Matches with and against them are very fun. :) |

lol, btw 27 million SP isn't an exaggeration... entirely. I know for a fact that both ChicagoCubs4Ever and 13ear have over that amount. They were talking about they total SP a few days ago in corp chat. |
