It feels really good now. The scope really helps with hitting targets, and it seems that after you get a feel for the optimal range you can really do some damage.
PS: I have Aim Assist off and haven't experienced this 'godly-lazor-OP-aim-assitz-' yet. |

It's great in most ways but the damage dropoff is ridiculous. Just 10-15 meters outside of your optimal and the damage efficiency drops to <10%. At that range point the Tac AR becomes actually the more powerful mid-long range option. The LR's dropoff should be fixed to be on par with the AR's ratio between optimal and effective range. Both game balance and a basic understanding of laser physics support such a change. |

Laser has always been good it just took a **** ton of whining and bitching before people wisened up to it. In all honesty they will never be as good as the true laser vets. |

Try it. It's basically auto-pilot for lasers. |

Glad you are liking it. Its a fun weapon and it takes alot of skill and practice to get good with. you have to have a 6th sense with the heat buildup. Learning to preheat then slide it over for a head shot is devastating to any suit. then knowing your ranges are pretty key.
I think the hit detection on it is much better now, For me it was very inconsistent from match to match, and all you really had to do was step left and right to make your self immune to its damage.
Still is not like the chromosome laser, But then again, all we had to shoot at was shield tankers, even the heavy's were in the Type II shield suits. You can feel the DPS difference between shooting a caldari and a gallente. |

The Duvolle is the only thing you should use.
If you dont use it, you should 'Get Gud' and leave the game, no really, leave, right now. |

The aim assist is good now. NOT OP.The aim assist actually helps you hit at long ranges, but it really messes up you gun game at mid ranges.
Still with all the Armor tanking going around even if the laser rifle is good now, its never gonna be OP. I mean have you tried dropping 2 galante logis at long range? they can literally sprint towards you eating the whole laser and they still kill you and laugh while they t bag you and kiss with their duvolle ARs....
-So yeah, the aim assist helps a little. -Yeah , you are still going to do better with an AR. -Yeah i started to use the laser rifle , but only because im in love with Amarr assault dropsuits and for some reason with Auto aim my Scrambler rifle gun game is at its worst.... |

For people who are unsure...
Press Start or L1 in the Merc Quarters (open Neocom menu) Scroll down to "System Operation". Select "Options". Press R2 twice to reach the "Controls" page with the sixaxis controller on-screen.
At the bottom of the screen when you first open up that page, it says "Aim Assist" and it can be "on" or "off". Set it as you choose.
You're welcome. |
