Has the weapon specific damage dealing been switched? The AR seems to now be more effective against shields and less against armor, while the laser across the map is making my 755 hp of armor go down faster then a slow scout. I know the its finally making its come back as a practical force on the battlefield, but im not the only one who thinks they should turn down the lasers juuuust a little. Its all around dps is almost ridiculous now. Also, not complaining about the SR itself, just the fact that again an energy weapon is doing more damage to armor then the AR. This wasn't the way these weapons were originally balanced and I don't see why CCP would change them. It really seems to me like a mistake rather then an intentional adjustment. |

If anything, it's because armor recently got buffed with more HP per plate.
That, and efficiency ratings are now in a more easily readable spot on the screen, allowing LR users to better judge distance. |

I can't comment on the Ar but since the laser builds up power the longer you hold the trigger it can appear to blast armour better than shields but really it doesn't - The initial output is less so appears to do less to shields, then builds after the shields have gone and so more armour is damaged. |

Shield has always been a little squishy, with the addition of aimbot/autoaim to their aim assist, they made consistently hitting them easier. As for armor, since armor had their speed penalties dropped and their base plate increased, more and more people are stacking complex armor plates without suffering too much on speed.
Laser has always melted armor tankers, especially heavies. The new scope makes aiming certainly a whole lot easier for them. Dont know what you mean by SR as it could refer to scrambler rifle (which has -20% armor damage) orsniper rifles which do +10% against armor. |

I can vouch for this. If you try to take down a target with an armor tank with a cold gun it will take noticeably longer than a shield tanker. Just keep an eye on the type of suit you are fighting to get an understanding for this. |

Sorry I meant scrambler rifles, and from what I recall energy weapons were never this effective against armor. I remember not even trying against heavies if I had a scrambler rifle. Energy weapons are supposed to be highly effective against shield and poor against armor and hybrid weapons vise versa. Just saying it seems to be switched but

Honestly I didn't know that about LRs. Guess that's my problem with them. Regardless, since the patch ive fell victim to too many situations where an LR out ranges my TAR and melts me, and when it doesn't out range me, it could put out the damage of 7 of my shots in the time it takes me to fire 3.
Yes everything has more armor, but it just seems like everything got tweeked to take down armor.... except for ARs. |

ARs have always done more damage to shields. 110% to shields, 90% to armor, this is because they are blaster tech, which deals a lot of thermal damage and a bit of kinetic damage. They are taking out armor slower because it got buffed while hit detection got buffed as well, making it do more damage to shields. |

Thats because everything effectively less resilient, because more shots are hitting their target and bekng detected, so weapons like the ar, lr, ascr, smg, hmg are now much more effective!! |
