This is the time to HTFU. Yes, this release brought drastic changes for us.
What happened to sticks? They got aim assist, making them a lot more competitive at no other change.
What happened to the mouse? Complete overhaul of input sensitivity, and getting rid of the ADS sensitivity toggle.
It's a major change, that requires us to basically get used to the mouse controls anew, while stick users got a huge upgrade. The low ADS sensitivity was awkward, but many of us got used to it and became very effective with it. Now it's gone, and all we can lean on is our personal accuracy. It is true that we have to reduce sensitivity to stay in the game, it still doesn't make us turn slower than sticks, it just requires us to work our arms harder...
I'd be lying if I'd say that I'm not struggling to maintain my performance with 1.4, but realistically I couldn't expect it. The mouse isn't an "I win" button anymore, and at the same time I have to get used to the new sensitivities... it's rough going.
But I also already notice that things are getting better. Mouse input is better and more precise than it ever was, and we have more control over sensitivity than we ever had. We just lost the ADS toggle for now, which is fine. I'm slowly finding which sensitivity works for me now (it's much harder, because it has to be slow enough to support accurate tracking, rather than rely on the ADS toggle) and I have to focus hard not to screw things up.
I have to play more carefully now, because frankly, I was getting used to just being able to dance my way out of any sticky situation... since most people just wouldn't hit me, while they dropped like flies to my gun all the same. At times it felt like stealing lollipops from children, and I never understood fellow mouse users who denied having a distinct advantage. Don't tell me about leaderboards, as if leaderboards had anything to say about skill in this game... I've never seen any actual evidence (in form of video footage) of stick users being able to compete equally with mouse users.
I'm not quite there yet, but I'm slowly moving towards my old accuracy again, and it's easy to tell that at the limit of physical ability, the mouse is still going to smoke stick users with ease. Aim assist doesn't matter, because unlike a true aimbot, it's not instant. A highly skilled mouse user requires mere milliseconds to target you, and then will keep the crosshair locked on you. Yes it's hard, but the point is, it's possible and if you can't hack it, you have nobody to blame but yourself. If you want the easy street with a lower skill ceiling, all you need is to pick up your DS3.
Let stick users have the conversation about aim assist among themselves, but us mouse users should stay out of it and avoid looking like whiney crybabies. The one thing we should ask for IMO, is that the game actually run at the advertised target frame rate, so we can consistently make the most of our individual skill.
That is all, thank you. |

I'm not, I'm only addressing the mouse users. Like I said, let stick users have the discussion about aim assist amongst themselves. |

aim assist + charge SR = 1 hit ko
i dont need to aim hardly anymore all i do is
1 .find red dot 2. zone in and release 3. free kill
u still need to aim but as long as u zone in when the crosshair close to red dot it help u track and release trigger and ull 100% hit the target

The loss of ADS sensitivity changes were the real kicker, exacerbated by aim assist at longer ranges helping the DS3 users. |

Primarily a sixaxis user. Also occasionally used mouse and keyboard for testing. Usually play with aim assist turned off anyway. Don't agree with how strong aim assist is and want it dialled back. Rarely run any proto gear on any of my rather large collection of alts.
If you have an opinion about aim assist, speak for yourself, not for others in a similar situation to your own. |

I'm sorry? Getting use to? No
My mouse setting in chrome was 50%
Uprising 40%
Now I'm down to 30% and this **** is trash, tracking is impossible, and I mean impossible, I challenge anyone upload a video of them tracking someone with a laser rifle or scrambler rifle.
KBM players have to pick now do they want some what manageable ADS but have the turning speed of a tank or fast turning with impossible ADS
Or just leave the game, which based on the server active is the preferred method |

They didn't add aim-assist to sniper rifles (along with a few other weapons like the MD).
This confirms aim-assist QQers are full of shyte.

Oh hey, a non-kb/m user telling people with totally gimped controls to "deal with it", laughing with his aimbot all the way to the bank. Mouse controls haven't been right since Uprising dropped, and have been made even worse as the future releases rolled out. DS3 has gotten amazing aim assist, while using the mouse feels like reverse aim-assist, but we need to "htfu" (the cattle cry to defend poorly implemented features instead of 'you use it, you can lose it') and deal with our preferred control method being nerfed into the ground?
That's adorable.
Go play Street Fighter on a fight stick that has a .5 second delay on inputs, then get beat by a pad and be told to "htfu, deal with it". Wait a second, that'll never ******* happen because its a ridiculous point only made by awful players with a bump to their play style. |

On patch day, I got completely slaughtered. Yesterday I started adjusting, and during a quick game this morning things have been feeling pretty good already.
No it wasn't the hardest game ever, but more important than the score is, that my aiming is almost back to normal. Yes things have become a lot tougher for us, but claiming that we got the short end of the stick now is just silly.
I've also gotten used to the new ADS sensitivity already, which was a heck of a lot faster than the time I needed to get used to the awkward previous settings. WIth the old settings, we were forced to play with fairly high hip fire sensitivity, just so the gun would move at all during ADS. Now we can choose a sensible sensitivity that is good in all situations, and use ADS only for the zoom and added accuracy like it should be.
While I strongly believe that this is the better default (also based on my experience playing comparable PC shooters competitively), I still hope that this will become configurable in the next update for those who really can't manage one single sensitivity. |
