what you are all experiencing is the hit detection fix... want proof?
turn your AA off, play a few matches....now, turn it back on...did you notice a huge change?
no...no you didn't... remember when you use to shoot at a guy and it missed and you were like "wtf I hit that guy"... that doesn't happen now because HIT DETECTION WAS FIXED... aim assist might magnify this fix but it isn't the issue...believe it or not CCP actually fixed something, hit detection people, hit detection... |

I don't think it's the hit detection, although it's much better now since I can now stab a stationary target for once. |

First day after 1.4 was released.
AIming at an unmoving Heavy, when a Scout runs along and jumps BEHIND HIM.
My aim doesn't just shift to the Scout, but tracks from about the height of his feet all the way up to his head near-instantly as I'm about to release a charged shot with my Scrambler Rifle. BOOM. DEAD. Not even the guy I was aiming for.
I'm so skilled.
Turn aim assist off, and at no point - at all - EVER - NO MATTER WHAT - does the game take over control of my aim. NOT. FOR. ANY. REASON. AT. ALL. The only time my camera changes is when I fall down dead, or when I'm directly controlling it for myself. That's it.
But you're right, that's not a huge difference at all. |

I just did... im not saying there is no aim assist, im saying the over powered feeling most have is coupled with the hit detection fix... the people who are saying that basicly they just sit there and the crosshair magicly targets people with no effort from the player are over exaggerating, and the fact that they may have made the hit box too big (which is a possibility) may be adding to this fervor that aim assist is OP... but ive been playing a lot myself and I don't have a magic crosshair so I can only come to the conclusion this QQ is a fish tail ( not saying you are QQing, talking about the actual QQers) |

Agreed. If you dislike aim assist don't use it. If you like it, use it. Or you can continue to flame about it while it falls on deaf ears and we all judge you for being terribly awful at this game. |
