First I need to say that I use a Move controller and a Sharpshooter. I do not get the Aim Assist that I see mentioned in these threads. I do get the benefit of the modified Hit Detection which i think is marvelous.
In playing the last few days all I have needed to do is limit my running across open spaces. My KD ratio is not any different. I admit the ratio can remain the same if I get more kills and die more often, but that is not the case.
My question is to the people who think that the game is ruined because it has balanced Vets and Noobs. In all the posts I have read, I never saw anything that said the aim assist was only granted to Basic and lower advanced characters. It appears that everyone gets the aim assist. "KBM/Move excluded".
So using the logic I see being spewed all over the place here. A Proto Vet and Basic Noob standing toe to toe, The Noob will win half the time. Because of the balance in the game. Believe it or not, The Proto vet would win that battle every stinking time. Unless of course he was not aiming.
The last I Looked, Proto shields and armor can be up to 500% stronger than basic or militia. The same thing can be said about the Armor Buff. It too is also an across the board Buff to all armor.
I can see the scouts being at a slight disadvantage do to the aim assist. They can no longer run across open spaces relying on their speed. They would be easy targets. I guess they are going to have to modify the tacticts a little and rely more on heavily stealth tactics. "You can't shoot what you cant see"
That being said. This update and patch are a welcome change and I think CCP did an awsome job. I really love not being killed by a lav going 1 mile an hour.

What an epic fail of logic. The aim-assist benefits vets less, for the same reason stabilisers (training wheels for those of you across the pond) would benefit the Tour De France less. |

Basically this. Aim assist compresses the accuracy distribution such that there is less difference between someone with very good aim and someone with bad aim. |
