Uprising 1.4 has been a great patch, the new maps are awesome and the map redesigns are awesome as well, however there's been issues with the shooting mechanics it feels like once you look at someone and just aim to shoot effortlessly you kill them. I have a dropsuit that is loaded with complex modules and it seems like a weaker mercenary can cut through my shields and Armor like a hot knife cutting through butter. I wonder does dropsuit statistics still count or is all your dropsuit fittings for show, because it seems like noobs in starter suits are playing like guys who wear prototype suits and guys who are at higher levels are playing like noobs. Dust 514 is a rock, paper, scissor type of game as well as tactical, depending on your dropsuit and weapon fitting is what guarantees you ultimate success on the battlefield. In Dust 514 it's all about gaining power economically, politically and to use your brain to develop some of the best dropsuits the universe has ever seen.
That's why Dust 514 is so addictive because that next piece of technology you earn will make you that much better. I tell any brand new Dust player that no one in New Eden is created equal, you have to earn everything. You want that new rifle you have to skill into it, oh you like that cool dropsuit you are gonna have to skill into it. Your choices of how you level up your character and set up your dropsuit will one day make you that much stronger to fight and kill more powerful mercenaries in New Eden. Uprising 1.4 has just gave the no skill user a crutch to lean on but in this balancing act the hardcore will adapt to this and overcome. Dust 514 is for the hardcore and power hungry gamer, Dust 514 isn't for the guy looking to get on and just be a good player right from the start, there's levels to this and greatness comes after your able to accept the fact you gotta earn your keep.
Call of Duty and Battlefield 3, they give you everything, in Dust 514, power is earned through the tough battles you fight and the decisions on how you develop your character. Uprising 1.4 is great but the hit detection seems not to discriminate it seems like everyone is now a crack shot and human error doesn't seems to favor the more skilled individual. Dust 514 is always getting better but when updates come along it feels like for every one giant step CCP takes for the mercenaries in Dust we somehow go four steps backwards all at the same time. I just hope that the things that made Dust 514 so good in the beginning don't go away but when something is modified or upgraded that you will still recognize the fundamentals. |
