As a scrambler rifle user, I would like to point out that the improved cooldown on the scrambler rifle is VERY nice, but with the aim assist you open the chance of it becoming a FOTM weapon.
I recommend CCP increase the cooldown time for the scrambler rifle just a smidge. Put it somewhere between where it is now, and it's 1.3 cooldown.
We can't have the scrambler rifle turning into the TAR, because of the aim assist.
The aim assist is good. Don't change that. The scrambler rifle is good too, don't change it.
BUT the aim assist WITH the scrambler rifle's new cooldown is a potential recipe for disaster.
Adjust the cooldown, again, to a performance between 1.3 and 1.4 for the scrambler rifle to continue respected balance.
CCP can watch it's metrics over time, if this becomes a problem as well.... |

I'd be curious of the performance outside of an Amarr assault suit. A cooldown bonus benefits the people that didn't have any secondary to mitigate heat issues more-so. |

Agreed. I'm one of those people. I'm a Gal Logi with proficiency 3 scrambler rifles. I was perfectly fine using both variants before 1.4, the cooldown makes it much easier, and I can panic hip fire with the weapon with far greater effect thanks to the aim assist.
But I think this is a potentially disastrous situation. I killed a few guys in a flash up close with the scrambler... this is perfectly FINE. The scrambler was meant to be extremely powerful, but the speed of it's heat build-up was the primary pillar of its balance. The overheat is what prevented scrubs from using it. Now that everyone can hit with it a little easier, I don't think it needs to be able to fire as much as it does now.
I was one of the first folks to discover the 1.0 TAR. And we really don't need that nightmare coming back.
Granted aim assist only kicks in at closer-mid range, but we are treading on thin ice with the scrambler rifles new reduced cooldown time. |

A cooldown bonus benefits the people that didn't have any secondary to mitigate heat issues more-so. Also, I'm of the opinion the cooldown is fine on the semi-auto. I have thought that the assault scr might need more heat build-up for balance purposes, but I also thought it could use a sharpshooter skill. I think the scramblers are still having more hit-detection issues, relative to the AR anyway. I haven't used them since patch day though.
Oh use it. You'll see. It's a bomb waiting to go off.
It's not so bad at starter level, but if you can fit on an Imperial with proficiencies and mods..... you have a very VERY nasty assault weapon now.
It was already quite lethal before hand, but the overheat regulated it... I don't agree with giving it a cooldown buff after aim assist is working properly now.
Simply put, I'm worried about everyone running around wildly just hip firing it. It's dps is potentially too high for that, and not even us armor guys will be able to keep it in check. |

I find this post funny because the overheat was barely even a buff. Chances are you will only get off 10 more shots it's no major buff. And the aim assist can be said for any weapon. |

And you are trying to stop a weapon getting nerfed by nerfing it since.... |
