this moring we had like 4k player and now its like 2kish left. i know people have to log off for real life but dust alway stay at 4-5k but after today game just went down hill like crazy |

Well I know several people who haven't dld the update yet either due to rl or because they are reading the forums and want to wait until the 5th for more of the issues to be fixed.
A lot of people are also taking a break for awhile out of frustration but enough if them have said they'll be back in a week so I'm not worried. Your corps so doom and gloom all the time man, get some sunshine up in there! |

This is based on estimation from eve online's known playing and subscribing numbers as providing a model, basically the numbered of folks logged on are about 1/12 of the total unique players throughout the day.
While this is hard to prove without actual server api feeds to which I am sure is a closely guarded business secret for various reasons as just about every mmo does a fairly good job in hiding this as a means of customer protection in more ways than one.
None the less this would mean the average player has about 2hr play sessions which... sounds pretty normal. Sure there will be the folks that play it for the 15 minutes and hard core players that play it until the cap hits but its a fair number to be basing this off of.
I will say we're a bit down right now, first of blame would be likely diablo 3 on the first, to which the big chunk missing started in the numbers should slowly climb back up but may never fully recover as that's the nature of new game releases. However Eve has a nasty habit of having new games take away players but then return with far more numbers once the game was found to be crud.
Second to blame is likely 1.4's newness overall and quite a bit of confusion and readjusting, some players just don't want to deal with change right now. Those that leave permanently are the ones that probably weren't planning on playing for the long term anyways but most qqers in eve have threaten to quit every patch and yet they manage to stick around to complain about the next patch over and over again. For Dust this may not be the case as the newness and lack of a lot of things may cause too much churning and player will go off and do other things.
Outside of that I can't gleam any more information from the graph numbers after all it's all speculation, it be like inappropriate to blame AA was the cause for the dip, or armor tanking changes caused the dip, there's no evidence from the graph itself. Now you can blame all of 1.4 for causing a dip and you can blame external factors causing a dip as well. |

well ccp just pissed off alot of people every patch i know some people already quit b4 this patch, this pacth just made even more people pissed off and not coming back. |
