I don't know what to do i keep dying, i can't strafe and i can't shoot anyone with my shotgun it keeps lagging and the guy shoots me afterwards did they add a new hit detection system or did they made it worse? i hate the new maps cos its so frequent and i want to play in the old maps they were better and alot easier to memories the terrain now, i'm just running point blank into enemy sights then they kill me before i could get away while stupidly strafing their bullets. If you are a scout watch CEOpyrex new video its about how sucky 1.4 is for scouts you should too CCP |

try ducking for cover when needed, I can still take down the occasional heavy in my squishy scout suit. It's making you actually use the skills to play successfully. Don't take this as me being mean, just as noticing the trends. Heavies can't move around places like we can, if we jump in the right direction a scout can temporarily evade an assault. |

Your right i agree, heavies can't move around very fast they need a LAV but they use HMG which goes miles and depletes my shield and armor and i don't have a repairer or a passive repairer which is should have cos i'm minmatar. |

If I was a scout I would not even try to engage the enemy except at very poorly populated points and or simply spend my time laying droplinks and generally spending my time...... uh.... scouting out the enemy and their emplacements. |

I wouldn't worry too much about the repairers, Honestly I just haul booty to the nearest bolt hole I scoped out and pray. Then I make the rabbit dash with that little yellow thing on my back flashing the shoot me signal to everyone while i chase down that guy trying to hack. Scout suits are effective taking on someone who is preoccupied. I die more times In my assault suit to scouts than I do heavies when I'm hacking |

Stick on the new scanner, fluxes, and a breach/assault SMG combo. No more running into the blob. Lots of in your face dmg.
And if you take excessive dmg run back to a supply depo |

to be fair, i think I might have stuck very very basic reactive plates one of my scout suits, lol!! they don't really help unless I pull some serious grenade lobbing towards the red dots, and yeah, after the minor red dot murder at the depot |

Oh and it just occurred to me, HMG has a long reload, they are prone to locking up, and you can catch the telltale of that happening. Cheer up, scout suits are still effective they just need to be reconditioned. |

I would be very careful around HMG atm, they are eating things very happily especially with the better hit ditection.
As a prodomanantly heavy user i will tell you that i rarely reload because of an empty clip, and i cant remember the last time i over heated. If you thought you can catch a heavy out reloading... i wouldnt bet on it... more likly theyll cancel the reload and put the rest of the clip into your skinny frame.

I always thought that RE should have been nades or that scouts should have had 2 suits.
Even so my ideal Scout I was planning to be one was a very sneaky, no combative, get in and out and scan down the enemies, and drop uplinks or deploy EWAR, but that's just me. |

Not every scout plays skirmish, so we're pretty useless in other game modes, domination, they kno exactly where ur comming from an ambush is a Zerg mentality.
Scouts need to be tougher period! They need more slots , CPU an better scanning an stats, when a gun can shoot 2 football fields an in order to not be scanned all our low slots need profile dampeners, so there goes ur speed or armor, or even a CPU chip to fit better guns or shields.
Ccp can't expect us to d this an not die from under 4 shots with all this aim assist, they need to re configure our suits. |

What are all those top-tier Logis doing with positive K/D? They're meant to be providing ammo, repairs and revives, not killing. What are all those Heavies doing getting kills? They're just meant to soak damage and let the Assault/DPS class do all the killing. What's that Assault suit doing with a Nanohive? He shouldn't be getting points for a Logi's job! What's that Logi doing with a Scanner? That's a Scout's job!
NO.
A Scout Dropsuit shouldn't have to be ONLY for scouting and nothing else (especially when a Logi does the job better now that we can't share targeting info without an Active Scanner), any more than the other suits have to exclusively built around a single role and do nothing else.
That said, the Shotgun problem isn't only a problem for Scouts, it's known by CCP and is being hotfixed in about 24 hours. So... look forward to that? I know I do. |

I thought you light up on the minimap when you use a scanner? It increases your profile, but if you've dampened that enough, or you're far enough away, you don't light up. |

OK, too convoluted trying to follow the chain of questions, so:
If you're infantry, from what I understand, when you use the active scanner it increases your profile so you're easier to detect. But according to Knight, if you're far enough you may not show up on the minimap. Just wondering, does your chevron show up as well? |

I thought you light up on the minimap when you use a scanner? It increases your profile, but if you've dampened that enough, or you're far enough away, you don't light up. Does your chevron show up as well? If your scan profile is high enough that the enemy can see you on their passive scanners without you needing to use the Active Scanner, it doesn't matter, and they'll see you any time you're in range (unless passive scanning is being glitchy like it often does).
If it's low enough that it's still below their scan precision after the increase when you trigger the Active Scanner, it also doesn't matter.
The only time you'll light up because of the Active Scanner is when you're close enough to be inside their scan range, AND your profile is low enough to slip through their detection, but high enough that the Scanner pushes you above their precision rating.
If you light up, they get a marker on the sensor display, and a chevron if you're in their field of view.
EDIT: Obviously, if they can see you, scanning stats don't matter, and they can light you up that way. If you're out in the open and see "you have been scanned", a quick spin will usually light up the culprit. |
