I just had my first 1.4 experience and find myself dumbfounded that so many people are complaining about aim-assist. Really? Aim-assist bothers you more than how difficult it is to currently get into a match? REALLY!?
Also many of you who are claiming aim-assist being sole culprit in your deaths need to consider the new match making and 10% reduction to strafe speed. Not only do game-pad users have something that helps them with finer aiming, you may be pitted against players of similar caliber and strafing isn't as powerful as it was in 1.3. You can no longer expect to simply move back and forth out in the open and magically avoid being hit by majority of incoming fire.
Furthermore, so long as this game supports KB/M, gamepad will require aim-assist to help it be competitive against the inherent advantages of KB/M. I'm still exploring 1.4 so I don't know if aim-assist needs further tweaking.
PS: Aim-assist does not equal aim-bot.

DS3 users shouldn't have to always be at a disadvantage. Rather we are good to pwn you and take your districts or not. I support Aim Assist. Let the KB/M walk a mile in our shoes for once.

seriously that whole twitter hashtag sh.it is the most annoying stupid thing and im not aware of anyone over the age of 15 who cares enough to propogate it.
people who aren't insecure about their own shooting abilities do not hide behind the whole M+KB things in a game that is trying its damnest to do it right, which no one else have ever done before. Fact is aim assist is through the roof and even DS3 users are complaining.
Its like all the people defending TAC ARs in their heyday. |

Go through the leaderboards its full of ds3 users with the occasional KB/M user.... The world your imagining never existed, No credible person who has invested time into acquiring personal aiming skill wants a computer aiming for them. It doesn't matter what control interface you use. |

medomai grey wrote:Aim-assist bothers you more than how difficult it is to currently get into a match? REALLY!? Two flaws with this argument:
1. CCP have not only acknowledged the problems with matchmaking, but have a patch already on the way. 2. Most of us complained about the matchmaking as well.

Yeah, some people are used to relying on cheap tactics that no longer work for a multitude of reasons. When I don't screw up (or have my Shotgun fire blanks - also being patched already), people strafing back and forth in front of me tend to die anyway. And I have aim assist turned off.
Quote:Furthermore, so long as this game supports KB/M, gamepad will require aim-assist to help it be competitive against the inherent advantages of KB/M. I'm still exploring 1.4 so I don't know if aim-assist needs further tweaking. NO. Just NO. Sixaxis control has a SLIGHT disadvantage in fine aim precision, but not enough to be a problem in competent hands. The only real advantage that CAN be claimed by KB/M control is when the game allows mouse users to turn faster than you can with sticks. And because DUST has a hard cap on turn speed, that isn't an issue. So no, you're wrong.
Quote:PS: Aim-assist does not equal aim-bot. Nobody says they're the same. We're saying that the devs have implemented an aimbot instead of aim assist. |
