The landscape was massive and beautifully done. I could not believe the size of the new maps. I got tired in RL just trying to take it all in. My hat is off to the DEV's who made this possible. My question is are we going to increase from 16vs. 16? To me the new maps can hold at least 75vs.75. Also just a friendly hint but I highly recommend everyone to skill into Biotics. Also it would be awesome to see more DS to carry soldiers around the BF. Thanks for reading. |

Hopefully we see more DS doing transport, these new maps definitely make a case for it.
And one thing about all the previous maps on the old terrain is they were built right next to each other such that they could be combined for some larger map, I always hypothesized. Now with this new Craters terrain all three of the maps are not just right next to eachother but the sockets are placed in the maps you are not playing in as well - what I mean is if you are playing on one of the new map you can look into the redzone and see the other maps and their buildings in place right next door. I am almost positive this was done so that if they ever manage to bump up the player count considerably it will be very easy to give us larger maps to play on.

I'm loving it too. The terrain is reminiscent of the 2009 trailer that got me pumped for Dust in the first place. I hope CCP uses the successes of these terrain sets to go to even bigger heights of map design. |

Not seeing the other stuff would look silly. So they took some time to make lower resolution versions of the stuff in the other game play areas so you could see them.

... Could this be a setup for some increased player counts in matches for the winter expansion?

Agreed. Also GG for the other day. Your Gunlogi just was not suited for the interior of the compound. |

/me puts on tin foil hat I was thinking the same thing, but at the current pace of development, I'm thinking it's going to take longer than winter before we see this kind of thing. Maybe next summer...
...on the PS4?
The new maps I've played have been a lot of fun. They look great, and have more verticality with certain platforms that require navigating corridors and stairs to access. It's the perfect ambush spot for stealthy players, but offers great sniping platforms within the map itself. Risks/rewards is what keeps things fun and interesting and I love the direction these maps are going. 75 vs. 75 would be pretty incredible too (but I doubt this is possible for DUST on the PS3).
I'd also like to see water and caves added. Those elements would really bring maps to life and create interesting tactical variety as bridges become natural chokepoints on the terrain (maybe tanks could cross them (but not be able to fire while submerged? and of course dropships would be even more important to help move people around.). |

The new maps are amazing, great job with that CCP.
And they could support bigger player counts. I'm not so sure about the PS3 itself, or the chat system. |
