So, I havent played Dust in about a month, I have been busy and frankly got bored, 1.4 was supposed to revitalize the game but I am concerned. I am a proud DS3 user who didn't use aim assist and was fairly decent. By no means a game changer on the battlefield but i felt like I could hold my own. However, I keep reading that with 1.4 if you are using a DS3 you are basically relegated to aim assist, is this true? I never wanted to see Dust turn into a complete twiitch based game wheree a kb/m was required to play at a relatively high level if i wanted to play a total twitch based I would go play Quake on my PC. But from reading the changes to aim assist I am very discouraged. So is the DS3 with no aim assist useless? |

You can turn off aim assist in the options.
But I don't really get what you're saying in your post. Are you saying that aim assist is a "nerf" to DS3? I guarantee you that the problem with aim assist is exactly the opposite. |

Sorry maybe i should have been more clear, I know I can turn it off, my question is, is it possible to be relevant without it while using a DS3.... |

and now players who use aim assist can't be considered true players since they need aim assist to help them kill other players. aim assist would be bad against the heavies since we're slow to begin with and now add in with aim assist, i doubt that we would be able to out run it anymore. |

With aim assist it drags your sights to the persons chest so if you have good aiming without aim assist then you will do better as long as you hit the person and get head shots. |

Not all weapons have it. It's really just a thing where you have to pick your battles a little differently. If you're good without the aim assist, then more power to you. |

That is up for you to decide. Get in a match, see for yourself. If your bad, youll be bad. If your good, and play bad, well then theres your answer. If your good and play good, well then theres your answer. |

I'm pretty bad all i do is proto stomp with my corp mates who are also bad and only proto stomp. The replies however are leading me to believe there is no place for a DS3 players who refuses to use aim assist |

It's not required. You can turn it off. But as a player who had it off for the last couple months, I've seen improvement in my gun game with it on. The choice - effectively - is yours. |
