I want to out technobabble my trekky friend. Forums! I require assistance!
So, stuff like the names of materials we use to build stuff, what fuels ships, duct tape brands, etc. etc.
Fire away!
But not the lasers. Don't fire away with missiles. Missiles are terrifying. |

oh **** man, im excited for you. i remember reading the dust fiction. CCP can write REALLY well and reading those will give you a sense of scope and ultimately make you feel way more badass in the game, which in itself is enough for me |

Good luck friend, I would also suggest listening to some EVE podcasts. I know this isn't EVE but lots of things are the same and they talk about all aspects of the game. It is also a good place to learn about some player driven events in New Eden's history.
http://evepodcasts.com has all the good ones. http://themittani.com is a good site for written articles.
There is a lot of stuff to learn about and it is fairly interesting. |

I'm pretty sure that the duct tape part is an accurate description of how we Minmatar approach technology.

I used to listen to Lost in EVE before it ended. I hardly understood a word of what they said, but it was a lot of fun!
I was hoping that with about three or four months worth of more experience in the EVE universe (if not EVEO itself) I'd be able to return to this stuff like I'd never been gone.
Well, the simple fact of the matter (oh hey I made a FotM) is that I was never there.
If I were to read EVE fiction, then, could you point me to where they explain all the technobabble stuff first? Or would I have to play EVEO (not an option right now) and will I just have to flounder around in being confused about things for a good long time? |

Interesting, but less engaging than I thought it would be. I think that I'm too tired (it's 12:00 a.m. here) to enjoy it fully. XD |

each of those stranded stories might seem disconnected but they are actually all the same story. once you finish you will be all like
go to sleep, get rested, and just blow through it all in one go. coffee too |

Quote:For sixteen days we fought, on little food and even less sleep, an enemy that was better equipped, better prepared and almost certainly better paid than us. And for sixteen days we died. Sounds like his group just got pubstomped. Bad luck with the new queuing system and all. XD
Yes. sleep. I will have at LEAST six sleeps tonight after I have finished this story. |
