Seriously, the new update hasn't been in for even 12 hours yet and I go onto the boards to see whining about the aim assist, ADS, anything and everything that has changed. I know change is scary for many of us nerds, thus why everyone should give the update a week of play before coming here to the forums to whine and complain.
I've only been able to get one match in so far today, it was on one of the new maps and it was boring because with the changes made to team tracking (or whatever you call it) it was hard to find anyone to shoot. Does this mean I should run to the forums to decry the map or the changes to the little circle thingy that used to show where your whole team is? NO. I'll try it out and if it remains that way for a week or so then maybe their is a problem that needs tweaking.
So until you have a broader sample size than a few matches or even a whole single day of playing, how about you keep your genius comments about 1.4 to yourself.

Why? The game has been "released" since 5/14. Any and all criticism is fair game. CCP knows this, if they don't then they are probably shouldn't be making a game. |

Quote:Why don't I get the game mode I selected? You can now choose multiple game modes however this will not always gaurentee you get one of those modes. The selection is used in 2 ways, we first build groups of players who have similar preferences of game mode, region and ranking. The second step is to use everyone's preferences to perform a vote on which mode to play. We will be tuning how effectively this works over the coming days so you should see some improvement in how often you get your selected modes.

Criticize old patches for all I care. But the new patch is still *new* give it a bit. Lots of people still have to update, and give it a whirl. |

We definitely appreciate the feedback! Obviously detailed and constructive feedback is the most useful. Which, while it might be hidden within a paragraph of understandable rage, can still be used for good! So what may sound like whining, at times it's exactly what we need to hear.
But yeah, some posts are a waste of paper. That meaning - if this were made of paper. Which it's not. Thank Goodness, poor trees! CCP Mintchip // Twitter - @CCP_Mintchip Dust 514 Community Rep |

In this case I guess optimist as I am hoping that the flood of complaints hitting the forums today are more a facet of things being different rather than the changes made in the update being "bad" |

I could be wrong here, but aren't patches suppose to *FIX* things?
When patches don't fix, but break things, people have every right to complain imo. |

1. The people who were happy logged in immediately when downtime was over, and are the enthusiastic ones who EXPECTED it to be good 2. The people how are complaining weren't as excited so they waited, and they EXPECTED it to be bad.
I played one match - I liked it - but I don't have enough of a sample to say if I like the changes. I did like the new map for what it was, though I was purposefully avoiding combat to explore and learn the map. |

Complaints about things like the matchmaking not working are completely valid, but things like the aim assist and removal of team radar really need a little time before one can say if they have improved the game or are "broken". Come on Lance, you're a Dust vet, how many times have we seen the same pattern of new stuff comes out, people freak out about how it sucks, much of it winds up being just fine once you get used to it? |

Well matchmaking is surely broken, no argument there. Aim assist might be cranked up too high. As I said in another post, this could be due to the fact the CCP can't fix the root of the problem, so this kinda fixes the issue. Don't have to aim when you lock on to the target. Similar to how DICE fixed the input lag in BF3.
The team radar thing seems to be working as intended no? I mean it was mentioned in the patch if I can remember correctly (my memory is shite btw).
The problem is people are tired of fixes needing fixes, you know? Uprising was a new build that was suppose to be a whole new "fix" to Chromosome. Instead it's been nothing more than CCP trying to fix one problem after the next, while adding any meaningful content has taken a back seat. Yea we got 2 new maps... *slow claps for the effort* but heavies still only have 1 suit after over a year and a half. |

Trust me the aim assist is broke as hell like everything else in the new patch apart from the new map which is kinda nice

People complain because some people are spending money on a broken game, when you spend money on something and its broken with no form of compensation people tend to get pissed off.
Makes sense to me.

And thank everyone of the Devs who have been posting today that we appreciate their efforts and prompt attention. I'm sure these problems will get nailed down within a week.

Yeah, I'm of the mind that not saying something in the first week means we have to wait longer for a potential fix. But in saying that, saying something is different to whining. Aim assist issues , even though it feels that rifle and laser users have it too good right now, require longer usage than 10 hours. It's a feature that needs to develop. I'm an MD user, which means aim assist means nothing to me but a harder opponent, however crying over that fact doesn't mean that it is broken. It could be just a learning curve. |
