i have no idea how CCP has managed it, but rendering infantry while in a tank is even worse now.
joined a scrim in my gunnlogi
sitting at C on manuous peak (or whatever its name is)
my blues are dieing at C and i cant figure out why
they are shooting in all directions in a panic
dropping like flys
to reds that are invisable to me within 50m of my tank
missle turrets now have a visual range of about 20-50m of reliable sight

I haven't had any trouble spotting people in my tank.
I've only used it once, and I was just running my Sica for testing purposes, but I was able to keep track of targets near the limit of my missile turret range. |

I've had a ton of rendering issues prior to 1.4 with installation turrets and infantry alike, in fact, one of the nights before the update I was running a gunnlogi and a railgun installation kept taking shots and managed to blow out my shields. I didn't see where it was until I stopped the tank to rep by hand... 50 meters away when it wasn't there before. I was using a railgun too.
As of right now I'm still experiencing rendering problems with infantry at relatively close ranges while using blaster turrets (on my tanks). Namely, infantry units simply won't appear. Standard def. television if that's the issue, although it kinda bites if that's really, honestly an issue. This is pretty lame. Tanking is just less fun with each passing day and build.
Edit: Thanks for bringing this up by the way. I've really only had these rendering issues while using a tank. |

After a couple more attempts in my tank and one I hijacked, I'm amending my earlier statement.
There aren't ALWAYS rendering issues, but there are rendering issues.
And very few targets, infantry or otherwise, render at all outside your weapon range. This was a VERY BAD idea. |

you weren't at the right angle you have to have your turret digging into the ground at 90 degree angle for infantry to render. |

Adding another anecdote to the list:
Was on one of the towers overlooking Line Harvest becuase I had thought there were swarmers on said building, turned out the were on the next one over.
Now, as I was stnading there with my DS getting popped VERY fast on account of the new launcher mechanics, I could clearly see the swarm launcher user standing beside his LAV.
As soon as I called in a tank and got in, he disappeared. Now, how is it that aninfantry unit draws when I have my SMG/Flaylock equipped but not in a rail tank?
I would have jumped out to see if the scrub appeared, but since I was getting invisiswarmed, I needed to protect my tank and roll off the roof. |

Same problem with dropshipa. Rendering nerf is crazy and makes no sens whatever preformance was gained by this was not worth it |

Av can see you at or after their max range but as a vehicle (ds) I can only see as far as a third of my weapons range. Lol.
Like I said, at this point just give me a shotgun turret for the front so I can make the best of where this rendering forces me |
