There are reports of DS pilots seeing other battlefields in the distance on the same map. Is it possible to use afterburner on DS and break through red line onto neighboring battlefield? Is there another "hole" in the red line there?
Is there a chance of fights taking place in the same map, same time and separate battlefield?
Or maybe it is empty and free to roam? Without time limit?
Just missing some empty space in DUST to wander aimlessly... after job well done
Also, have seen couple of matches with more than 16 players in a team. Can it be due to players "leaking" from neighboring battlefields? |

No. Dust takes place on a 5x5Km map. CCP renders the whole battlefield that has 3 large sockets (this is where the out post go). You can zoom out in the battlescreen and see this, that is what the dropship pilots see. However the whole battlefield that is not your map is redline. So no you can't leave. |

Yes the red zone is like the radiation zone of oblivion, on the other side is another battle with mercs with same names as the one you just came from, weird $#!? Man!!

The maps are bigger than the part we fight in. When on spawn screen zoom out and have a look around. |

Does CCP plan to eventually open up the maps for Mega-Skirmish?
Where there would be 3 Large Socket installations, kilometers apart and all the terrain in between be playable?
If not, what is the point of these terrain maps having multiple battle grounds in them that you can see from eachother? |

By battlefield/battleground i mean the area in red line "hole" where we are able to spawn and fight during matches. Dust can BARELY support 32 person matches. You think it would be able to also play 3 other matches with the same amount? |

I think they said at FanFest the goal is to eventually expand into 5KM battles. They gave themselves some room to grow.

You've been playing on the first 5K map. All the current battlegrounds are supposed to be on it. Ashland is weird though but I think its on it too. Tomorrow adds the second 5K terrain and will add three new battlegrounds but you'll still be limited to those areas. |

My internet connection went down one time and I managed to roam the redline a good deal in my tank before the game noticed and disconnected. Pretty empty emptiness is empty. But it was a fun ride, map is HUGE. |
