Why wasn't dust 514 - Eve Online listed for the 'Innovation of the Year' category?
I mean, come on, Defiance is listed up there and it's linked to a SyFy series, you telling me that dropping orbital bombardment(s) cross platform isn't as or more innovative than that? |

Sure as hell more innovative than Defiance. Though it might have something to do with the less than amazing reviews Dust has been given. |

I will assume that the connection of Dust with EVE is not strong enough yet... allot of critics are only seeing the future "Potential".
You can't give an award to a game because it "may" be Amazing few years from now. But this Awards happens every year, so it may happen in the future, once things becomes a "Reality".. and not just a "Dream". |

But that's all Defiance is O_o;
It's the -potential- to change the storyline and they never exactly ironed out how you'd be changing the TV Series.
As far as innovative features, Dust 514 has more "active" innovation going on right now what with cross-platform communication, corporation interaction and actual affects on the battlefield - not just in PC but in Faction Warfare as well. |

Actually, Defiance have already the "Connection", is just that the "execution" is totally rubbish..The TV series are actually not bad, is the game that is falling behind. But you can clearly see the "innovation" even if it is not very good.
Dust 514 connection to EvE is very "circumstantial", even if the execution is very strong.. stronger than Defiance anyway. |

If you havent let me just break it down for you. I have not played a game that was this much fun to play in the last decade.......and to top that off this is easily the best story driven game I have ever played.
It deserves to be GOTY....heck I would call it the game of the decade.
Now about dust.....Dust deserves no rewards. They have done nothing unique here at all. In fact the only thing that was supposed to be unique was dialed back because they didnt want dusts failure to affect Eve. So if anything Dust should get a LOLFail award. |

The Last of Us does deserve a lot of the attention it's been given, but DUST should have been in either the "best MMO" category (which included at least one MOBA for no apparent reason) or "best multiplayer" as an option to vote for, and honestly, I think limited, but functional cross-platform and cross-game interactions are a far more meaningful innovation than a terribly implemented (to the point where you can hardly tell there is any) influence on a TV show when the game doesn't even allow players to cross its strict region and platform limits when some of those regions don't even get to watch the show yet. |

he's right, in a lot of ways. until it's one community, and dust needs eve and eve needs dust, it won't get the attention that it should. |

I read a game informer reveiw on dust; It was gorrible. The guy who wrote it seemed to not even have played the game. Started flaunting things like pay to win and saying you could but items off other players and stuff. Anyway the CRITICS in any industry are biased towards things. They let themselves be herded like cattle into a set point of view, even if it's by the worst informed people. Dust is innovative in many levels; First the equipment and skillpoint system in itself is unique. The connection with EvE online, while still not completely important, exists in a real and tangable way.
I remember when Napolean dynamite wont the MTV's movie awards and guess what it was a movie made by MTV. So I really mostly don't pay attention to the handing out of awards. These are mostly biased towards people within the same group or big names that are just rolling with old fame (not to say some games are not very very good). I just feel that more times than not the CRITIC community stays withing the bounderies they know and thats what will win. |

Just because your a fanboi doesnt mean that other players can see truth for what it is. Dust is a bad shooter. It tries to do some interesting things and does them all poorly......and the main push of the game (FPS) is riddled with bad game mechanics. You can continue to be a fanboi...but just because your a fanboi doesnt mean Dust should get any rewards. Its obvious in other posts you made that you have your head so far down in the sand that you are probably actually watching CCP Shanghai walking into work. So keep up the faith....remember this is a game that has a 5-10 year plan so hopefully by 2018 there will be alot of really cool and unique features in this game.  |

I cant believe people are still attempting to argue that an orbital strike from Eveside (which in all honestly in PC nowadays is an extremely rare sight) is an actual meaningful connection between these two games. Come back and talk to me about a meaningful connection when Eve is forced to utilize Dust players to take control of planets and mine/gather resources then I will admit there is a meaningful connection.
