I'm no Eve expert. I know of lasers and something called an "auto-cannon" which I have no idea what it is.
What are the other expected turrets and what do they do?

Well in EVE you have different 4 main different types of weapons. Missile Launchers, Hybrid turrets(rail and blaster), Laser turrets (pulse and beam), Projectile turrets (artillery cannons and autocannons, these fire gunshells).
So that beeing said it could well be that they are giving us the two laser turrets or Projectile, what would mean artillery or autocannon. The autocannon you can compare i suppose to the modern day tank. firing slugs, instead of a large plasma bolt or very fast bullets. Then offcourse there is the different ammo types, about 8 for each. But that might be integrated in the future once the new ammo system is in place.
In EVE the ammo types are: Lasers use Frequency Crystals: Gamma, Infrared, Microwave, Multifrequency, Radio, Xray, Ultraviolet, Standard. (Modulates the beam of a laser weapon into the frequency)
Hybrid turrets use hybrid charges: Antimatter Charge, Iridium Charge, Iron Charge, Lead Charge, Plutonium Charge, Thorium Charge, Tungsten Charge, Uranium Charge. (for instance antimatter charge consists of two components: a shell of titanium and a core of antimatter atoms suspended in plasma state. Railguns launch the shell directly, while particle blasters pump the plasma into a cyclotron and process the plasma into a bolt that is then fired)
Projectile turrets use projectile ammo: Carbonized Lead, Depleted Uranium, EMP, Fusion, Nuclear, Phased Plasma, Proton,Titanium Sabot. (Metal-cased shells).
For Missiles, in EVE you have torpedos, rockets, cruise missiles, etc. So none of those could apply to Dust. Other then different types of missiles, with different effects.
for more info on them check EVE WIKI |

Well, to explain the types better that we don't have, think of it like this:
Pulse Lasers are like a Scramber RIfle
Beam Lasers are like a Laser Rifle
Autocannons are like a HMG
Artillery are like Mass drivers
Think of it like that, and yo'll understand
Anyways, our missiles for turrets are rockets, as their is no homing to them at all. I'm not even sure why Rockets act like missiles in EVE anyways, and not like turrets (because a rocket has no guidance, but a missile does).... |

I'd say the artillery would be more like modern day tank main-guns. Autocannons would be more like, well, modern day autocannons. Relatively fast firing, but with smaller shells.
Hard to say how a small artillery turret would behave, but I would imagine a small AC turret would be a lot like a mounted HMG. |

Proberly because of the fact that your flying ships in vast space, so you would have to keep in mind things like, the needed flight time and distance. If it where like in dust (the turrets) then you would have to be on top of each other and that would not work. so they created a system that kinda gives the same as missiles, yet could be used for the smallest of ships.
As for in Dust the current turret system in a way copies, modern day multi rocket launcher tanks. If they would get an EVE type of missile, it would proberly be like a big truck that fires one of those huge rockets/missile. Definitely would love to see one of those in Dust, but don't think they will for now.
