Scout dampens profile to 27.5 dB (rounded up to 28 dB).
Slayer Logi whips out Proto Scanner (28 dB).
Question:
Tie goes to the runner, right guys?

I would hope so but the last proto scanner is 18db so were f'd anyways lol |

But aside from that, it is worse than all the other proto scanners. Only someone with a massive vendetta against all scouts would bother with it. |

That Meta 9 scanner is poop.
You'd have to hold it steady for the full 5 second scan duration for a measly 5 second paint job.
Not to mention pay a hefty price in Isk and CPU/PG.
The Meta 8's are too good to pass up. |

Inclined to say yes to your observation. Running a dragonfly w/ 10% profile damp & I'd often get a "scan attempt failure" messege even while I'm running. Maybe because the scanner was a low tier model? |

When the precision/profile thing was tested in Chromosome, precision = profile meant you lit up. I'm not 100% sure if that still works now.
Logis, Scouts and Heavies all had matching profile and precision stats. 45/45 for Scouts, 50/50 for Logis, and 65/65 for Heavies. Assuming no skill investment or module use for either stat, all of those suits were, in Chromosome, able to locate one another on passive scanners.
Also, yes, there's one Active Scanner with some of the worst stats in every area except profile, which will detect literally everything because of its precision of 18. It takes a longer time to scan than any other model, and has a longer cooldown between uses. |
